A relayed wire harness should do just fine.

1995-1999 nissan maximas and infiniti i30s have a 3 pin socket (9004). A common, low and high. I am pretty damn sure that this is the same for nearly all nissan/infinity vechiles. Test the lights with a multi meter and see if you get the results I get below. I posted the following on hidplanet. I also posted a schmatic that I made in ms paint by a combination of cutting, rotating and pasting.

While off, all pins are dead.

During low beam operation, the common pin will be positive (+), the low beam pin will be negative (-) and the high beam will be dead.

During high beam operation, the common pin will be positive (+), the low beam pin was positive (+) for some damn reason and the high beam pin will be negative (-).

They use a common positive (+) and a ground to switch the lights on hence the name "ground switched".

If wiring a harness use the common (+) and a chasis ground (-) to activate the main ballast relay as common is only on during headlight operation. No need to use the low beam connector at all especially with it's switching polarity LOL. For high beam You can use the common (+) and the high beam (-) to power that relay.
