Injectors, very strange problem
-okay, as some of you may or may not know, my #1 injector is 'dead'. anyway, two weeks ago, i did the pull nd clean technique with that injector terminal. yes, it was corroded. i had cleaned it, but when i went to start it up, NO CHANGE. but throughout this week, my maxima runs as it did when i bought it back in november.
Whats Up With That??

April is approaching?
Cleanup doesnt mean contacts are healthy. If your problem was bad contact, then now u have it ... until May ? ... (cut/solder the wires solid or get new pins (=injector), connectors)

April is better than mentioned November - which may or may not have to do nothin with anything???
Focus on the intermittent contact issue - its dancing in tune with microsoft stocks and the calendar. Soldering the wires solid - or getting new contacts - will clear that vibration controlled contact problem.

im asking why it does this.
at times, it rides rough, and other times, it runs as smooth as butter.

it's one of the more unusual symptoms of injector failure.
look at a light bulb. see the filament inside of it? when a bulb "dies" that filament will typically break at some point. on occasion that break will touch together again and weld/solder itself closed. that fix usually only lasts a little while, but it does happen. the same thing is happening to your injector.

uhhhhh, let me try to put this in an easier term, and see if thats what you mean.......
the injector dies, and after a while, it slowly "regains life???????"

sometimes the problem can be solved thermally?
when the engine gets hot , it heats up the injector and the broken coil regains use when it expands

Yep had this problem with one of my injectors, when the engine was running rough, it measured about 100ohms, after it warmed up, sometimes it would smooth out and run fine, if I measured the injector in this state, it measured about 35ohms. The weird part is the injector was either working ok or not at all, almost like the resistance of the injector reached a threshold where the ECU recognised it as ok and started driving it again, even though it probably wasn't performing to spec. Both measurements are well out of correct range. I replaced the injector and haven't had a problem since.

This analysis is like reading tea leaves. If injector is "corroded sea green", then it really is green corro-dead sea. Take out, throw dead six magpies.

the coil breaks. then as the car moves and everything vibrates a little bit, the two ends of the coil flap around inside the injector casing and will sometimes touch, spark, and resolder theirselves to a temporary fix.

To be safe, get the upper and lower plenum gaskets, and per Wayne's suggestion which should be quite helpful, before installing the new o rings, rub vasoline or petroleum jelly on them. And dont pinch or damage them.

get injector o-rings from dealership, they are cheap and better quality than any autoparts store.
Like i said in someone elses post about the o-rings, I did my front 3 injectors, went through 9 autoparts store o-rings in an hour, then got 3 from dealership and they didn't get pinched....yes I lubed the **** out of the autoparts o-rings and they still tore every time

just to make sure we are deffinitely clear, i have the VG30E, and i've heard of only ONE plenum gasket needed. a local mechanic i've known for a while has worked on problems like these on maxima's like mine, and he clearly stated i needed only 1 plenum gasket.

Yeah dude, we all know which engine you have..you have 2 intake gaskets, an upper, and a lower. you must remove both to access the injectors.
