DOHC/SOHC injector difference

I am in the process of changing my injectors and had one from a 92-99 DOHC and a 93-94 SOHC side by side (I am installing SOHC). they both looked exactly the same for all visible measurements except for the color red on top for the DOHC and peach for the SOHC. I assume they both fit in the SOHC fuel rail. So can some expert tell me what the internal differences are. By the way DOHC injectors sell really cheap on ebay.
eg http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...ksid=p3907.m29

Has any one witha SOHC engine actually tried using a DOHC injector.

I actually bought a set of 6 reds from someone who bought them thinking they would work in his VG.

the dohc injectors have slightly larger holes in the tip so they inject more fuel and your sohc engine will run rich and get bad gas milage and may not idle ie they wont work right

dohc = 260cc
sohc = i think 200cc

If thats the case and someone puts all 6 dohc injectors in a SOHC then the engine management system should lean out the fuel mix uniformly and it should work ??? Or am I missing something

It won't work man, buy the injectors that are made for your engine.

there is a limit to how much a system can compensate for missized injectors
