So this is how it ends.

DanNY, you can polish things up under the hood. you seem to be good at that.

Jason, was the red still Aztec Red, or did you go with a different color before you put the 5 gallons of pearl on top of it? I'm considering Corvette Torch Red to brighten things up on mine... don't want to do the pearl since it will need somewhat frequent retouches due to the roads around here.. a solid color will be easy enough to fill in little chips, then just sand smooth with 2000grit and buff.

its still the aztec red base with a few spoons of blue pearl. IMO the aztec red alone was too orange in direct sunlight, the pearl kinda took that away. If I hadnt done the pearl I was gonna go with a another red, probably the VW red. Actually the red on the g coupes is a pretty nice red.

matt, aztec red kicks *** with blue pearl on it. never a big fan of the red until i saw jason's car. having sprayed the color, there is a big differance between just the color and 2 coats of pearl on it.

Thanks for the advice, but I'm going to stay away from the pearl. it's just too hard to touch up without repainting the whole damn thing.
If I stick with a solid color, it should be better.
then again, with what I plan on doing with the clearcoat, it'll be hard enough to get it to match anyway. hmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Mike? you'll be the one doing the gun work. input from your end?

well since I have never painted pearl in clear (I would put it in a mid coat instead of the clear) I am not sure I would want to do it. I don't think it would be a good idea to do it my first time on your car. I don't think it would be difficult but if you don't lay it down right it can pool up and leave you with stripes (though it shouldn't with a mid coat).
That said...if you want to do that I will give it my best shot .
