Wiring Question!

I am trying to wire a external switch to unlock the car for an emergency

I know that the light blue wire with silver dots on it that goes into the main window master switch is the unlock negative pulse wire.

So here is my question If I cut the light blue wire and ground it will it unlock the doors ? Heres a bad representation

lock con. unit-----(conects to the wire below this one)
connection-------------------------------------------------master window switch
!
!
!
!
Switch (NORMALY OFF)
!
!
Negative terminal of batt.

Hope You can understand the maddness

Please give me all the help and input you can give thanks !!!!!

Your Data pages are conflicting one says the neg unlock wire is yellow/blue the other one says it is light blue with silver dots. I think I know the proper wire to tap into but I just want to know If what I described above is feasible to do ?

Thanks

unlock wire is sky blue

attach one side of switch to that wire and the other side to ground (or chassis)

BAM

uhh wat kinda emergency do you mean? as in you lock your keys in the car? why not make the switch so you can open the door to get your remote to disarm the alarm? sorry but i dont understand why youd wanna make another switch to disable the alarm. i hope your not gonna make a switch also to start up your car from the outside incase of emergencies.

That depends... Do you have a factory or aftermarket alarm?

Isn't that wire gonna be in that jumbled up mess of wires under the dash? You could try deciphering the alarm's wiring diagram (if its aftermarket) and finding it. Try it, if it doesn't work put it back together.

Here's a few other things to think about...
(1) The factory alarm can't be uninstalled (to the best of my knowledge)
(2) If you have a aftermarked alarm, and it is armed, it will go off when the door is opened until you disarm it.
(3) Locking and unlocking the front passenger door resets the factory alarm

It could be a lot of other things, like where you tied the switch into the wires(before the lock or after? which door? Etc). Why don't you just put a spare key in your wallet. If you lock your keys in the car then you have a spare in your front pocket.

I don't know that I could solve your problem with the information at hand, but maybe this will give you a few ideas...

Good luck,

Matt

ok I will tell you if you must know I have a magnetic reed switch on the outside of the car so I dont have to fiddle with keys in the dark. I have one side of the switch screwd to grd. and the other side is tapped into the light blue unlock wire. If door opened, like wired above the alarm will sound. So I tied the disarm wire to grd. now it works but I have to flip a differnt switch to arm my alarm Thanks
