Those with short throw shifters

When I installed my st shifter, Shifting became notchy.....Like you can feel it going into gear..Its not smooth..

I think I read somewhere that the mounting plate that the shifter goes through has a bushing...

What other parts can I replace to get a smoother shifting between gears???

if you tighten the shifter seat too much then shifting will be more difficult. do you have a pacesetter? if you do the ball isnt the best matierial, but if you grease the snot out of it that should help a little.

I installed a stillen short shifter and no problems whatsoever. Just on the install the first time, I installed it a bit too tight and then loosened it and it's been great eversince.

Yea...I also loosened the bottom bolt a little when i greased up the ball and the bottom part.....If you get it too tight it will be hard as he!! to get in gear...

You can't get away from the phyiscs. Nissan crappy tranny + short throw shifter = notchy like a *****. You can run synthetic and keep the adjustment to about 50% shorter but it only helps it and doesn't eliminate the notchiness.
