Does anyone have the hardest time unlocking their car? I've allready broke one key off in the passenger door and when its really cold i need to pour warm water on the other lock to even get the key to go in, nevermind turn it

brendan you're too strong and that's why your key broke. quit being so manly...
i agree lube will help since you don't have the $$ for keyless entry. or you can borrow my big fake dog and just leave him in your car to scare people off and leave the doors unlocked.

you can get a remote start and keyless entry system for around $50 now a days. I am sure you can get just keyless entry for even less.
I think I paid $70 for my alarm with remote start.
I hate using the key to unlock the door...it was a pain the first 3 weeks I got my 92 until I finally swapped over my alarm.

if you cant afford that stuff, when mine where a pain to unlock (i was seriously locked out of my car for an hour) you can try liquid graphite. its the shizznit. try it and be happy. i think walmart or local hardware place should have it, or whereever they make keys. dont get the powder, get liquid.

Granted its not a viper or any other DEI product but its good enough for what I want.
Yes I hooked up the trunk pop, lighted entry, and remote start. It has one more output I could use but I have nothing to hook it to.
Again though if you go to a shop most of the cost is the install.

1 - spray lock w/ WD40...(don't be cheap...hose it down w/ the straw)
2 - work key in and out of cyl...wipe off extra wd40 around lock.
3 - get some lock ease (blue bottle graphite lock lube)
4 - work key in and out....wipe off extra graphite.
5 - let lube dry (few hrs) and the lock won't stick anymore.

thanks for the info guys, haha thanks jeph, bring the dog into work and i'll borrow him.... But why are these locks so bad in the first place? It freezes without fail everytime, never heard someone have this much trouble

Same with my 94SE which i no longer have. The lock froze up with the pins in the unlock position. So I could basically unlock the car with ANY key that would fit in the key hole. I always figured that would suck really bad if someone figured that out, no one ever did, and I work in downtown Cleveland.

I would like to know where to get new lock cylinders at. My drivers door is so loose to open when turning the key. The metal flap is missing so if I wash my car in the winter, I can count it will freeze overnight. My trunk you have to keep trying till it finally pops (winter time good luck). The passenger lock works flawlessly.
