BMW Lights...
I dont know if this has ever been addressed before... but can you buy U.S. spec e36 lights with the plastic cover, cut the plastic off and put the clear glass maxima headlight covers on to make them flush and get rid of the faded plastic? Sorry if this is a repeat question-

Not sure which clear glass cover you're talking about. The stock lights aren't very clear at all.
Check out http://maxima.cardomain.com/id/awsm66 on page 9 I think he has FAQs which include the BMW lights with the plastic maxima headlights covers like a few of us have done to make the lights actually fit the contour of the front end.

"How did you make the lights flush? I cut the factory lens off of the E36 lights and replaced them with a lens that I made from clear GTS brand headlight covers made for the 3rd gen max. I cut the part off that wraps around the corner lights. The lights arent sealed on the sides now but its not a problem."
Yeah thats what im talking about... follow the contour... so I guess it would work with the US spec bmw lights since its a plastic cover

You could do it with the projector ones that are glass. They're just held on by a couple clips. I've seen something before on a bmw site about how to take them apart. I was just saying that you dont want to reuse the stock maxima glass because it's not clear at all and has diffusion gratings built in.
baking in an oven would be to soften the glue so you could pull the BMW lights apart more easily. I just used a dremel and some vice grips to pull off the cover

You could always get a set of Euro Ellipsoid Projectors which come with glass housings and angel eyes from the start. I almost got them for my car but since I'm selling the max in around 4-5 mos I'm not going to add anything else to the car.

The years are 92-98 and it's any E36 and if you search you will see a lot of people with a lot of question check out some of the sites of people who have them. You have a 6-30 hours job lol depends how skilled you are and if you can get everything to work right there are plenty of conversion pages to help you out. I know for fact the projectors are larger and have a bit less of a gap and they are even harder to get in but if you like that look then it's worth it. So look around and look at some other post about this and about the conversion.
