This sucks! starter went out and cant put a new one in for a few weeks

about a week ago my starter went out and I havent had the cash to
put a new one in and with my job shutting down for the christmas/new years week I wont ahave a large enough paycheck to buy a starter, I really hate this, My main question is that will I have a big problem trying to start my car after a few weeks? it has 274,000 miles on it and when it would start it ran pretty perfect and all reg maintenence has been done on it, how hard will it be to start and will any bad oil sludge begin to build up?, and help would be greatly appreciated and thanks in advance, Dan

You shouldn't have too much of a problem starting it, Dan.

If you kept up the maintenence like you said there shouldn't be any real problems. The first time you start it after you replace the starter make sure you let it run for a while before you actually drive it anywhere.

and when you do drive it, try to vary the rpms to make sure that it heats up enough to evaporate the water that builds up
