If not a lifetime warranty, you looking to buy one?

how's the condition of the battery?

have you had the system load tested? See if there's a load on the system while the car is off.... then check the load on the alternator while the car is running... you shouldn't have more than a few amps of charge while the car is running with all accessories off. no more than about 50-60A with everything turned on...

If any more than that, then you've got something that's not working right and I would start by looking there.

how's your engine seals and stuff? if there's a lot of oil leaking on the front seal, it can get gunked up in the alternator and cause problems too.
