Sound 14829,14808,14817,14824

Hello,

I was wondering if the Magna flow street series muffler
14829 5x8 dual tip $88
14808 4 round 3x2 tip $70
14814 6 round 4x4 tip $79
14824 7 round 4x7 tip $89

sound different because of the sizes from loudnest & tone and looks best on a max.
also wondering if 225/50R16 on 16x7 w/42mm offset fit in the front?

maybe internetautomar(y) can help since he sells it.

Thanks in advance,

1. cut off muffler above RSB
2. weld pipe to extend to bumper.
3. .....
4. profit!

no muffler needed. great sound. no resonance inside.

OMG.. everyone and their mother thinks it's sooo loud... when i took it in to Midas to get the end pipe welded on, they were surprised i didn't have a muffler on it. plus, they asked me what type of V8 i had in it. i told em it was a 3L.

i immediatly got a O_o look from him. "V6".

O_o ohhhh..... alright... damn, sounds good!

try it. whats the worst that happens? you weld the muffler back on?

i do not recommend taking the muffler off at all. mine fell off from rust so i put an extension on it so it wouldn't resonate in the little muffler "hump". well... it didn't help. that thing was so damn loud on the inside i almost hated driving it. i did however get many compliments on the sound. all of my friends loved the sound of it and so did many others including my dad, lol.

i couldn't stand the interior noise though so i got a magnaflow street series muffler and was very pleased with it. not only did it sound good on the outside, it wasn't loud on the inside at all and the best part was i could actually notice a power increase due to an increase of torque. having no muffler decreased back pressure with lowered low end torque very noticably. putting the magnaflow muffler on put some more back pressure on the system and made it run really good. so, like i said in the beginning, i'd stay away from going mufler-less and get a good mufler like a magnaflow.

i'll try getting a recording of mine some time soon. i need to get it running again but that should be tomorrow. my setup is a bit louder than what yours would be since i'm running an absolute straight exhaust from the turbo back with no resonators. its actually still not too bad on the inside and still sounds good on the outside... a bit too loud for my tastes on the outside but i'll be upgrading at some point.

this is the series i got and i love it.

I've been going with no muffler since I got the car, and cops don't even look or care about it.
Of course this is Illinois :
Any motor swap is legal so long as the car passes the standards for it's year
No safety inspection.
No exhaust laws, other than those required by epa (cat required in original location)

Here is my magnaflow:

14830. Sounds great, but is a bit loud for my taste. Get a large resonator if you put it on your car.

Turbo makes good mufflers, so I guess most like oval vs. round.14829 great for $88, how about Greddy SP replica in look and sound for $109? some opinion on which do you guys prefer? and how about fitting 225's up front.

I have the same magnaflow too and love it, you can usually get a used one on ebay or cragislist. I wanted a valid warranty so I got it here. Magnaflow 14824. Also some of the forum sponsors selling magnaflow*usually have a sale going on. Either way its a great cat, sounds great, and very easy to install.
