Sick and tired of aftermarket clears

I've been through a couple of clears and eventually in time they start separating and looking like ****. I just wanted some feedback on who has some mint clears and where did you get them from. Please don't mention custommaxima.com I hate them If its someone on ebay and if possible can you remember the seller's name. Thanks guys for the responses I appreciate it a lot.

Does anyone have the link to that site that has the tinted corners for our cars? I know it was linked on here a while ago. It had wicked looking clear corners where the corner part that is usually amber was tinted black. And they had a few more varieties too as I remember. They were no cheap lights either, they were like $150.00 for a pair. But they looked wicked and I'm sure they are great quality.

Anyone remember that link?

I don't believe they were UK. It was a big custom car site. It had a few varieties of corner lights for the maxima I believe they had fully tinted ones, and ones with just the corner part tinted. I think they were fully custom. God I need that link!

Hell yeah I found the link! Unfortunately it's an Austrailian site and extra steps + shipping charges apply for outside countries. The corners they sell look great though! The site is www.ozeparts.com Thank god for the search option

I got mine from Procarparts.com off ebay. I had them for about one full year before I noticed my passenger corner sticking out a little bit. You can push it back in and the glue tries to hold, but you can see it come right back.

I might try to use some really tough glue and repair mine one day. But right now, they haven't fully fallin apart on me yet.

Weatherstrip adhesive might work well for that, it really held my side molding on great.

Yeah, you better hide behind that wall. You have what we all want. Nice OEM ones from a different land far far away.

Dang... website lists it @ A$93.50, which using a curreny converter means ~$63.65 for us... and that's only for ONE corner.

my passenger side clear corner seperated also. most on ebay are cheap like the ones i bought, but i think their are a few which are better quality and a little more expensive. around $35 a pair. they have the white clip where the screw goes in instead of the black clip

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33708

also might help if they are dot approved.

Can we stop with the UK thing. Forget it even if custommaxima has the best set I am not giving him a penny. Will just keep on buying from ebay until I get a good pair. The thing that sucks is that when you get them they seem fine, but after a couple of days same **** happens. Clear cost like $30-40 a pair and to keep on experimenting and purchasing it adds up. Hopefully I will be lucky this time. Thanks for the responses guys.

I just used some super strong epoxy on mine. They separated after 2 months, got epoxied and haven't come apart since. ( another 10 months later) I just clamped them, coated the wussy little clips, and used my stock corners while it cured.

Not true... I have smoked corners... and they aren't from the UK. And it's not one of those DIY spray tint jobs either...

sorry bout that but he asked...besides the NY crew is the king of whoring other threads so why not someone ***** yours J/K .

OK seriously...

What I would do is take a good set of clears you have and take the factory corners you have and either do one of 2 things

#1. Take the lenses off and swap them. To do this you would need to heat them in the oven for a few minutes. I know on the clear corners I had the backing was cheap and didnt seam like it fit right so swapping the lens from the clears to the factory backing may eliminate the problem...not to mention the factory will have the better glue.

#2. Take the lens off of the clear corners and get all the glue out. then use a good epoxy like Spipedong90 is talking about. That way you are sure to have it seal all the way around.

Its a little work either way but I think would be worth it because you would have factory quality clears and not worry about them coming apart.

See???

Its still a spray tint (or clear with black mixed in...which is the correct way of doing it and I am capable of doing just havent had time to do it) job or its a new product that no one else knows about but you and if you dont say where you got them people will bug you about.

Or you just painted the inside reflector part (all but the very center where the bulb is) like many others have. If thats the case believe me they dont look the same...not bad but not the same.

Michael I was kidding, you can *****. I was actually thinking of doing what you said about transferring the clears to the factory backing. I will try that if the next pair results like all the others. Thanks!

It's definitely a surface tint Mike. And unlike the DIY stuff this is guaranteed not to fade over time so you don't have to reapply every 6 months or so (not to mention it only set me back about $50 minus shipping). I've seen the jobs where the reflector inside is painted and while looking half decent the light output is just pure butt. But, until I can actually get my hands on OEM UK corners, this is the best I can hope for for now.

I hate to be a bastard, but I love these, and I don't want every 3rd genner rockin these like they rock the clears. I did a bit of footwork for these so I don't see why the rest of 'yall shouldn't. Searching can yeild many things.

I might give you a clue if you PayPal me a couple of bucks as a donation to my "Max fund"...
