tapping clicking behind dash, possible solution?

For all you that have that dang tapping or clicking sound that comes from behind the vent on the right of the clock, I think I might have found out what it is. I had a mechanic tell me that it is a relay or what he called the "mode door acuator." He said that you can remove the glove box, and the side of the center console next to the passenger side, stand on your head and use double jointed fingers to get at it. Has anyone every heard of this thing or replaced it. Mine only really clicks when its cold, but you can pull the fuse to the AC and it quits, or you can hold down one of the defrost buttons and another vent selection at the same time to temporarily stop it. I did try a whole new temp/vent selector module on mine and that was not the problem. Any ideas?

Thanks guys.
