Interesting problems... All related? (Long)

Ok... Here's what got me on a search:
I have a Pioneer 40x4 HU, and a set of Pioneer 6x9s... That's it for a sound system (And some POS Sony Xplod 4" up front)
Now, when I have the bass cranked, I watch the light on the HU dim, and it dims the lights in my doors (Nothing else)
If I turn it up to 20 w/the car off, it'll shut off the HU, and at about 25 with it on... The HU goes up to 40.
Now, it's been doing this ever since I installed the HU 2 years ago, and I've replaced the alternator once, and it's still doing it.
On a quest to find out why (I'm about 99% positive the ground is fine) I checked the battery... It's at 13V off, and 14.8V on... Which is high, I know.
Now, also, when the car is idling, it keeps kicking the idle up and down, which is normal, yes, but it does it WAY too often... In a 60 second period, it'll do it maybe 4-8 times.
Now, when I'm driving along, and i have a steady foot on the gas and the engine is <2k RPM, it doesn't hesitate, but it'll rev for a second, and that's it... But it'll do it every 10-15 seconds or so, about the same cycle as when it's idling. It's barely even noticable, the only reason I can tell is because I live in that car practically, I know it inside and out, every noise and move it makes (It's like an extension of my body )
My buddy thinks it might be either my voltage regulator, or my alternator (We dunno if the regulator is built into the alternator or not)
What do ya'll think?

Don't know what is causing your problem but I can tell you that the voltage regulator is built into the alternator. Good luck.

Booty bump?

No other ideas, or think of any testing that can be done? I'm thinking about putting a small system in my Max in about 2-3 weeks, and I'm worried that whatever is causing the dimming goes beyond a faulty HU or something like that...
On the plus side, I ordered all the parts to fix my exhaust leak from Courtesy Nissan, and it came to about $80 shipped, which is all 12 studs, nuts, washers, and both gaskets... They only offer the upgraded studs.
The clear corners are still on backorder tho <sigh>
