Built VQ35 Progress!

Built VQ35 Progress!
I was able to get the rods, pistons and left cylinder head put on the motor.
Setting the ARP fastners to yield is a biotch, you have to pull them to 70ftlbs in three steps three times! Arm hurts! And to use a VQ30 girdle on a VQ35 with crower rods you have to mill some clerance for the rod blot to pass the girdle, the fun things you find out building a high performance motor.
For those who dont know...
VQ35 block w/3.0L heads
ARP main and head studs
CP Pistons
Crower Rods
Just a few weeks to go...
Thanks fo Jason "Cutler" for comming by and helping.

im kinda behind on the hardcore VQ stuff. would you mind briefly explaining why your useing the heads and girdle from the VQ30 when the VQ35 heads flow better, i assume it has to do with you not wanting to use the 35 intakemanifold. does the vq35 not have a main girdle. also are you using stock VQ30 cams

A few more pics. I really need a camera with better macro focus.
check the shiney ports on the intake side of the heads
you can see the cuts for clearance here
Nice shot of the bottom end
crappy shot of my DIY intake port clean up... the bowl area is awesome looking!

by retaining the stock vq30 heads and intake manifold, is there any wiring issues that you might run into? obviously the IASV and EGR mounting and setup would be the same as the vq30. Would you run the vq30 or 35 ecu? I've been contemplating this set up, minus the pistons and rods but I'm scared $hitless of the wiring.

Looking good Matt.
You have stock VQ35 cams...you just need JWT spacers and to relocate the dowl pin to use them, so why not?
The increased lift from 8.5mm to 9.2mm would be worthwhile.
Can't wait to see this beasts' numbers.

740cc = 740bhp?
At least in theory it is ~600whp@100%DC and 3bar for six 740cc injectors....
Any decision made about which cams you're going to run?

A very generous friends has sent me a set of VQ35 cams to use. If I can get the overlap down enough I will use them. A bit more lift and duration cant hurt, but the over lap might.

If you convert over to the DEK LIM, there are 1000cc injectors but pricey.

so does the VQ35 only use 8 head studs/bolts or are you only using 8 studs and the rest bolts?
i know the vg uses 12 or 13 head bolts (not sure if that's due to them using an iron block or what)
