Tires and Wheels Rubber, and lots of rubber in all kinds of sizes. What do you use when it's freezing? What do you use when it's hot? You want sticky rubbers? How about rubbers that will last a long time? Find your perfect rubber in here.

What tire size would you run for an 18x7.5 rim or what are you running now?

I SEARCHED...but didn't find what i'm loooking for. Please help!
I saw some people wiht 18x8 rims use 235/45/18's...and some with 235/40/18's....so my question is:
What size tires would you run on an 18x7.5 rim? Right now the rims i'm planning to buy come with 235/45/18's. I googled the tire size calculator and the stock 225/50/17 is close in size to the 235/40/18's. What are you guys running or what do you suggest running for that size rim? Also...what size are the OEM rims? width/offset? Thanks in advance!

Which year maxima do you have? For the 4th gen, I would go with 235/40 for an 18x7.5 wheel.

I believe they are 18x7.5.
And 235/40 is perfect IMO

yeah I like the extra width and height for some assurance in the occasional rough pavement (road work)

^^ ok thanks man. I am planning to get 5.5 gen maxima....and I purchase some rims for it already. I think it's going to look nice. =)
Thanks for all the replies...I'll jsut wait till i wear these 235/45/18's out and get 235/40/18's next...there are a lot more tire sizes for this too.
And for those of you who are lowered...any rubbing issues? If you do, what offset/tiresize are you running? Thanks!

No rub issues except under EXTREME speed/turning, ive only done it once cause I missed a turn. I believe the offset is 35.

edit: Also, I'm really low on coilovers.

Sorry for going off topic a little bit. I'm getting some 18x7.5 rims and 235/40/18 tires, but the rims have an offset of 43mm. I'm new to this whole offset thing, and was wondering if the tires will fit on 43mm offset rims? Also, can anyone explain how offset can make a difference on fitment?

The tires will fit fine on the rims.

The rims may not fit fine on the car, but someone more knowledgeable in the offset category can surely answer that for you.

edit: Noob, please read the stickies to learn about offset, and also, tirerack.com has a great tutorial on how offset works.

do you guys think 245/40 would cause issues on a 4th dropped on coilovers? the rims i plan on getting are 18x8 and alot of you guys are suggesting 235/40 for 18x7.5, but what about 18x8 rims?

Keep in mind, the wider your front tires, the larger your turning circle is and the less crisp your turn in will be. Stick with the 235's, Just make sure they are ultra sticky!
