How do youreplace your oil pressure sending unit?? No instructions in haynes manual

there are instructions in the stickies at the top of the forum. unplug the sensor, unscrew the sending unit, replace, reconnect. the hardest part is finding the oddly huge socket you need to uncrew the sending unit, i think it was 1 1/16" or something...

for lack of a better description, it's on the back of your oil pan, if i remember correctly. no pics, but out of curiosity: how do you know you need to replace it without knowing where it is?

I have a leak and one of the things they say in the haynes manual to check is the oil presuure sending unit, but dont supply pic or instructions on replacing it...thanks again!

It is very common to have a small bit of oil comming from the oil pressure sending unit on a higher mileage car, usually not a concern or enough to notice between oil changes. It is very easy to see, just jack up the passange side and take a look at the back of the oil pan. I

You should be able buy an oil pressure sending unit socket at any of the chain stores: autozone, pepboys, etc.
