Changing Oil Pressure sensor

My oil pressure sensor is leaking oil, so i figure its time to replace it, but i can't get it off, none of my deep sockets will do it, i even bought a special Oil pressure 1/2 socket, and still no good.. ANy advice on getting the stupid thing off?

Just go to the autoparts store and get the replacement one and while you're there find a socket that will fit over it. You could also probably use vise grips, just be careful.

Vice grips work great. Remember, some oil squirts out once you pull the sensor so have rags ready.

Or drain the oil first.

I did that and it looks like the oil pressure sensor is mounted too close to the pan and the socket won't fit over it... Ill try vice grips

I'm certain you can get a socket that will fit...That's what I used. Maybe the one you have is for an impact wrench or something.

I think the socket is 1 and 1/16 inch for the stock sensor. It needs to be deep. My new sensor was a different size though. Just test fit some sockets and see what size you will need....or measure the darn thing with a ruler haha.
