High milage oils are probably thicker to better seal worn seals and parts, which is why they aren't energy conserving. Your milage is NOT high and if you don't have any leaks or burn too much oil, I would either just use a good conventional oil and change regularly, or a pure synthetic and change at longer intervals with a filter change in between.
