Anyone tried Federal Tires?

I just ordered a set of Federal SS 595 225/50/17 tires for my 2000 I30t because I needed new tires before driving down to Florida in a couple of weeks. They were only 85 dollars a tired and 394.00 shipped. Has anyone else tried this tire? I ordered these because I the tire I wanted, the Falken Ziex ZE-512, which seems to be the best tire on the market for the buck is back orderd at tires.com (109 each there) and Vulcantire.com (98 dollars each there). I figure if I have issues with the Federals, which by the review seems to be a good wet/dry tire, I'll just order the Falkens later this year.

I've been looking all over for info on these. I got a couple answers on this and other boards, but not that much info really.

What review are talking about?

Thanks

Here are the links I found. One board:

And testimonials on Federals Website:

I should have the tires on the car by Thursday, so I'll let you know how they are then... I order the tires from onlinetires.com, and I found a pair of BF Goodrich Scorchers 245/50/17 for 80 bucks each for my 02 Altima, so I'll post my opinion on those also once I get them.

I had the SS-595's installed this morning on my 3.5 altima. So far so good, but it is to early to give a full report yet.

I guess we are the pioneers... LOL I can't wait to get mine, I'm going to put the old tires off of the I30t onto the new rims for my altima until I can save up to get a new set of tires for the altima. Even worn Potenzas are better than the crappy Conti's I have on the steel wheels.

Well, I got the tires today. Here is a look at the aggressive tread pattern:

I got them put on this evening and haven't managed to break traction with them yet, and I've been trying... My initial impression is that the grip very good but they seem a little noisy. I'll give them a good review after i come back from Florida in a week or two.

You can see by the second picture, how much wider they are over the stock potenzas.
