I am selling a complete air ride suspension that was installed, and then later removed, from my third generation Nissan Maxima.
The kit is a direct-fit (bolt-on) replacement for any 1989-1994 Nissan Maxima...It may also work for other models/years as well.
I say that it is a direct-fit replacement because I took my original rear suspension and modified it to accommodate the air bags (as you have to do with all air ride kits for the Maxima). You can keep your stock suspension if you ever want to return your car to its original suspension!
Also, everything included in this setup (except for the struts themselves) can be used in any vehicle's air ride setup...cars, trucks, whatever!

I'm looking for right around $1k, or a trade for something worth around that much to me... The valves are practically brand new and the kit is in fantastic condition!!! (The car was for show)
I have one interested buyer so far that wants the kit. He has an '89 Maxima and is looking for something to trade me for the air ride, or trade plus I throw him extra cash...
Anyone have a four-wheeler or go-kart they would like to trade (or trade plus I will throw you extra cash)???
Good price imo since they are around 1300 new without labor. Its nice to see some flexibility in sales these days. Cash, trade, 4 wheeler, gerbils !! whatever lol

The kits for around $1,300 are complete crap honestly...
A few problems with those cheap/garbage kits:
That will be for one compressor, not two.
That will be for one small tank, not two.
That will be with horrible valves that leak, not heavy duty ones that are used industrially for oil, water and air.
That kit will not come with brass compression fittings, they will be push-to-connect (horrible).
That will be without the 2" bell drop spindles, to get you almost laid out on the ground.
You will have to modify your own suspension which involves cutting and welding, and never having the ability to go back to stock without buying a new suspension.
That will be with regular gauges, not digital.
That will most likely be with four or five small switches you mount, not a 10-switch box.
Most likely that will be without oilers, filters, water traps, gauages, etc.
Not to get on a soap box about it all...but I went through all the headaches of the "complete kit."
My kit originally cost about $1,600...But before it was all said and done (with replacing the garbage-quality pieces and buying the ones that weren't even included) my "complete kit" cost $3,000.
I may be interested for use on my Toyota Previa minivan. I want to pimp that out and it needs new struts anyway. What more would I need to buy or do to mod it for use on the van?
Thanks for the info. The struts on the van are currently blown up front. Could I use those housings to mount the bags to or would I have to get new struts? Thanks.
I would be giving you my complete setup which includes the 4 air bags mounted to my Maxima strut housings with strut cartridges and drop spindles...
I don't know if they would bolt-up to your van. You may need to remove the air bags from my strut housings and mount them to your van's housings, in which case you would need new strut cartridges. The air bags take the place of the springs...you still need struts.
Well, I just ordered new struts for the Previa (KYB GR-2s up front and KYB Gas-a-just for the rear) and will be redoing the susepnsion soon. I want to drop it with coilovers or lowering springs, but it seems that those parts are only available in Japan for this vehicle. Besides I have back country roads I have to drive on sometimes and need to be to carry weight and pull a trailer from time to time.
If I used the air bags what type of drop and adjustability would I have, and how would I be able to maintain the ride hight for maximum comfort, performance, and making sure the alignment doesn't kill my tires?

A: When I had the air ride suspension on my Maxima I could raise the car to over an inch above stock height and drop it to just a few inches off the pavement.

A: The beauty of an air ride suspension is that it is completely adjustable 24/7...you use the read-outs on the digital gauges to decide how high or low you want to ride.
After driving the car for a little while you will decide the pressure you want to have each bag inflated to...Then, if you would happen to ride low and need to get up over a curb or something you can just hit a switch to clear the curb.
Other cars (like Lincolns for example) have an air ride suspension from the factory which is inflated by the air conditioning system.
As far as an alignment goes, I took my car to the shop and set the bags to my preferred height and then had the wheel alignment done at that height.
