Engines runs then shuts off

I recently bought an 87 maxima and I’ve been having issues getting it started and stay running. When I turn the key I can hear the regulator prime for fuel and it will run for a second then shut off and will only run when I prime it again. I know it’s fuel related since I can keep it running with carb cleaner and I’ve replaced the regulator and fuel filter but still no dice. I also noticed when I open the fuel cap it hisses and depressurizes. Is that the reason it’s not staying on?

Perform an Ohm check on all your injectors, check your fuel pressure and make sure your IAC valve or EGR isn't the issue

Congrats on your purchase. Have you tested if the fuel pump works by disconnecting fuel hose, having someone hold it in a container, and turning the ignition key for just a second? Before even doing this, can you hear the fuel pump turn on in the back of the vehicle? That would be my first guess. Good luck!

I did the ohm check and all ranged from 14.3-14.8 which is pretty close to the.5 range. Is that the correct resistance for these injectors? And to get to the fuel rail does the intake manifold have to come off for it?

yeah I disconnected from the filter and was getting fuel and I can hear it prim plus I know it is since it will fire up after it primes and then shuts off.

Do you have the fuel line connected to the fuel rail correctly? It will not work connected backwards. Did you perform a pressure test? If you have fuel, adequate fuel pressure, and spark then You need to check you air systems you may have a possible air intake leak! Are you in TX?
