ill take some pics tomorrow, kinda stalemated right now, need a steering rack from a M30 or 300zx, or something with a tip to tip of 51 inches.

sant finish the exhaust unless i do the steering and cant do the steering unless i do the exhaust, so the steering is first. finished that braket minus the steering mounts, and made a new upper radiator support, thniking of putting some different healamps on her as well.

i got that one diseaase REV RUN was telling his kids about "my funds are low" LOL!

btw anyone with an 85-87 need a steering rack, its got about 5k miles on it and 500 miles on the new tie rod ends (greaseable)

spacers needed to make it flush, rear only...

300zx BMC and booster

j30 calipers, lost the last ones (q45's)to the rain, those with the rotora are a straight bolt on to the 240sx front spindle..

the schematic.....

completed...

its a tight one...

so while doing this i bent the drivers side line....womp womp.... now i gotta get another one. prolly gonna do the lines all new since i know what sizes and bends that i have to make...

thats all for now, found out i need a j30 steering rack, so if anyone knows where i can get one or if you can get me one thatl be cool...

Why'd you upgrade the BMC for J30 front calipers?

2 reasons

1. well the z31 i got this one from was the dual pistoon caliper design so itl compensate for it better

2. 3 brake lines with a remote spliter instead of 4 lines

Reason 2 just clicked for me now, didn't realize it before. Z32 BMC might be a bit too much for J30 front calipers though. I've retained my stock BMC for Q45 fronts, and it holds up fine. The 240 community only upgrades to a Z32 BMC for Z32 fronts or anything bigger. It's fine if you plan to upgrade later; Z32 fronts offer a better selection of brake pads anyways.

hahaha yall stupid LOL!

for some reason this week sucks...

the master cylinder is leaking from the poportioning valve <----lame

the slave cylinder bleeder valve broke in the slave cylinder<----hella lame

the steering rack had tie rod end studs were bigger than the holes in the 240sx spindles <-----fixed that though

so i gotta get another slave cyinder and master cylinder, booo!

if your careful you should be able to drill the bleeder out and just pick up a new bleeder instead of buying a whole new slave cylinder, but if you can find one cheep way less of a pain in the azz

naaah i aint gonna risk it im just gonna get another one on sunday, looks like i aint gonna have a trunk, the gas tank might take it up, using one from a 240sx, along with some more bracing to keep the rear trunk section nice and strong...

You ever thought about a racing fuel cell of about 15-18 gallons?

update.....

rear was concerning me a bit due to rear frame peices i cut out, so i fixed it..

the bottom half of the car is now braced, ill add in another rod when i get the fuel cell..

got other non leaking master cylinder....

bled brakes and clutch <----ready to go!

mounted the steering rack on to the crossmember... rack bellows are on the way.

a lil close to the turbo

but with a lil twist here and a bend there....

wired up the starter, had to extend a few wires like 3 feet

now it sits, tomorrow im gonna atach the rack to the column then take out all the crap in the car and start to put the seats and dash back in

so now all i need left is:

fuel cell/ gas tank

dash interior back in

battery tray

radiator main hoses

wire up the fuel pump

engine oil, tranny oil and diff oil

start.....

Is it gonna start on the first crank and run? That's my challenge when I build/perform major repairs to an engine....so far it's been the 1990 Max that started and I had to shut off due too a minor fuel leak!!!!! So I'm batting about 50 and 1 .....

Just sayin, it doesn't look like your heater cooling or evap units are going to fit with that new tunnel.

It's not crazy hot in San Diego is it? Last time I was out in Cali it was obvious why so many people love it out there! The beautiful weather and everyone of walking,... you hardly see any obesity amongst it's population like in Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, etc.....

Great work again bro!!

Any thoughts about a power steering cooler, some wrap or a heat shield? Even though its way down there in the engine bay, sometimes it's better safe than sorry ya know?

Hope I didn't sidetrack you with that heater comment. Considering what you've done, i'm sure you're plenty capable of modifying the stock system, retrofitting, or creating a custom one if that's what it came down to.
