Looking for a factory wheel center cap for a 1982 Sedan...
Anybody have one they're willing to let go of?
I'm looking for one to replace the one that went missing on my 1982 Diesel Maxima Sedan with 65k miles on this pristine example of 80's cruising style!
Everything works, with the exception of the passenger rear door latch which already has a known solution.
I just put new tires on to replace the 12 year old ones that were on the car when it was garaged back in 1997. I wish I'd had the forethought to put a taller set of tires on!
I made the mistake of going with the factory 185/70/14 which was the cheapest 14" tire anyone carries. I should have paid a few extra bucks to get the 205/75/14's to get better highway mpg and lower the revs on the diesel motor by about 8%.
I'll definitely do that on the next set of tires, but it'll probably be on one of my spare sets of 15" 280ZX Turbo "swastika" wheels, but I do like the retro styling on the factory Maxima wheels though...
Thanks,
WW

My abject apology for this but I have just joined today to gain some info on the L24E motor. Unfortunately I have to 'hang out' to amass 15 posts before I can ask my question. I assure you all I am not a spammer nor do I wish to intrude on your splendid forum with my 15 boring, time and space consuming posts about nothing much. I can't even start a thread to complain about the 15 post limit to management!
Anyway I throw myself at your collective mercy and trade 15 (14 now) useless posts for some info on the L24 motor in the '84 'goon. This should save all of us some time. If management disagrees they can cancel me at one post and again your time wasted is minimal.
Recently someone has told me that the original 240Z L24 motor is the same, internally, as the L24E motor in the Maxima. I seem to recall that there are some differences in the rod or piston pin diameter, maybe even the rod bolt size? Can anyone elaborate on this?
Should this be my first, and last post, thank you for your time. Great site info btw, and my apology.
