SUPER EASY fix for overheating / heatsoak

today I figured out a big cause of my heatsoak problem on my 82'.

1. I threw out the old broken intake tube before the airbox when I first bought the car back in feb. of this year. I pulled a BUNCH of little peices of it out of my filter. if you know a 1st gen l24e, you know the intake sits pretty much on top of the exhaust manifold... the peice I took off stretches across the core support and picks up air from the pass. side of the engine bay ( exhaust / intake is on the driver side..) so this wasn't helping the air intake temps I 'm sure... BUT, today....

2. the cardboard / fabric sheet that attachs to the underside of the hood had been wet and old etc etc and was drooping down, unsightly and serving no function I could find....

3. said peice was hanging down right in front of the airbox where it pulls air in, forcing the motor to pull air in from between said peice and the hood (about a 1/4 inch of space, if that, not good)

4. since I've removed this useless peice of crap from the underside of my hood, it's running ALOT cooler, has ALOT better pick up on throttle, and revs SMOOTHER.

now tell me this is no coincidence....this is a great suggestion for those that are running with the airbox -the intake tube before...

thoughts?

pre edit - edit...

ALSO-
I'm looking for this peice that I'm missing... intake tubing before the airbox. if you got a spare or whatever, PM me and we'll work out a deal

and sorry for no pics, my camera took a dump while trying to snap some pics of this ordeal
