That car is in really good shape and I'll bet the interior hasn't suffered the heat and sun damage you find in southern cars.
I would first put some wheels on it and see if you really want to drop this car.
The 280zx rear struts are the same but the control arms have the mounting point for the rear strut 1 inch different than the maxima (which is also the same arm as the M30 infiniti).
For me, I would stay with the stock arms since they have positive camber at stock ride height so lowering a bit would net you far less camber than in the 280zx implementation.
It is also possible the 280zx strut is made either 1 inch longer or shorter which might need to be taken into consideration.
I would first fit some wheels and drive it around with them at the stock height.
It seems 225/50-15s will fit fine and not rub in any condition but going bigger in width will rub the inside of the front fenders and going taller than stock will rub the top of the rear fender liners when you hit a bump.
Line this car up the way it is next to a slammed honda the way it is and you will find you are actually lower than him at stock height.
Also remember, if your car has the solid rear axle rather than IRS, then you can ignore the 280zx stuff above and instead talk to the guys at aussiebluebirds.com forums.
My car with seats out and spare out of trunk with empty gas tank sits a bit high but I had everything out so I could vacuum it.
Here's a bluebird........the front end is shorter because they came with 4 cylinder engines but the rest of the car is mostly the same.......except for being right hand drive.
