Hey bro I live in vantucky WA and tere is a huge nissan meet comming up in seattle. You should come its a Golen Gardens Park on march 29th it starts at 8am and last year there was 641 cars. eerything from R34's to a versa. its crazy to see all these cars in one place. even the canadians come down. ope to see ya there and nice ride.

You should go Japanise VIP styleing on that, I would love to see someone do that to a 1st gen. I have wanted to build a VIP 1st gen turbo drift car forever. Im gunna do it as soon as this car is payed off. :-)

The 4 lug 300zx wheels (225/50-15 tires handle really well) bolt right on with no rubbing.]

They do rub with the 215/60-15 tires which is the size the 300zx came with stock.

I think the 240sx application wheels should have the same offset which bolt right on but don't remember.

They really wake up the car.

Welcome to the club.

That car is in really good shape and I'll bet the interior hasn't suffered the heat and sun damage you find in southern cars.

I would first put some wheels on it and see if you really want to drop this car.

The 280zx rear struts are the same but the control arms have the mounting point for the rear strut 1 inch different than the maxima (which is also the same arm as the M30 infiniti).

For me, I would stay with the stock arms since they have positive camber at stock ride height so lowering a bit would net you far less camber than in the 280zx implementation.

It is also possible the 280zx strut is made either 1 inch longer or shorter which might need to be taken into consideration.

I would first fit some wheels and drive it around with them at the stock height.

It seems 225/50-15s will fit fine and not rub in any condition but going bigger in width will rub the inside of the front fenders and going taller than stock will rub the top of the rear fender liners when you hit a bump.

Line this car up the way it is next to a slammed honda the way it is and you will find you are actually lower than him at stock height.

Also remember, if your car has the solid rear axle rather than IRS, then you can ignore the 280zx stuff above and instead talk to the guys at aussiebluebirds.com forums.

My car with seats out and spare out of trunk with empty gas tank sits a bit high but I had everything out so I could vacuum it.

Here's a bluebird........the front end is shorter because they came with 4 cylinder engines but the rest of the car is mostly the same.......except for being right hand drive.

People with 300zx and 240sx just about give away stock wheels that will bolt right on your car.

I would lurk at the 240sx and 300zx (1984 and 1985 for 30zx) forums.

When I go to the u-pull junkyards on the right day, I sometimes find a 240sx they just brought in that still has 4 wheels on it.

this is my exact feeling about mine, which is THE SAME EXACT CAR AS YOURS minus the 5spd, mines the auto, see my album

I want to go low as well, but I'm not sure how.... I was thinking bags but I don't see the happening with the IRS... could a wagons' live axel be swapped? would it be worth it to bag?

I want differnent wheels too, but I don't much like the 240sx / 300sx stocker options, I want something like the moon eyes solid + lip smoothie wheels, not sure if they make those with our weird 4x? bolt pattern...

anybody know where I can get some of those sweet fender mounted side view mirrors? (seriously)

I did not modify my suspension at all and still use the stock alloy wheels on my '81 Max. I put on a lower and wider tire and that totally changed the look for the better. They are 215-60R14s. They have been on the car for 8 years with no rubbing....so I bet you could go even shorter and wider if you wanted to. That was an easy and cheap fix. You might give it a try, then fart with the suspension if you need more "lowness".
