And a vid clip. This car has got to be one of the best sounding 2nd gen...or at least that is what I think.

And one of the best sounding around IMHO.

Well let me jump into this:

This was my baby. 1986 Maxima SE.........Maxima of the Month: Named Lil Nismo

Let her rest in peace.........................so she can be reincarnated later.

And this is my latest baby, and the sibling rivarly to the Maxima. 2005 Nissan Altima: Named Arbalest

........and she has a long way to go 'till completion:

Sorry for jacking up all the space.

Thanx.............. I am going to wait till I really get settled in (financially, of course) before I hunt for another 86. Big E-Dog hooked me up with one for 750.00 but it may need a anti-smog device........whatever that is. Once I get one, I am going to do the same thing like I did to that one, except it might be painted a smoke color. And I am going to finish what I was working on the last one; a 300ZX ecu, 250SX throttle body (for a real aftermarket CAI) and a Y-pipe for the dual exhausts.

I dont post much, just read a lot.

The Maxima is my only car at this time.
It is a piecer, but I've managed to clean it up and get her running enough to get me to and from class.
And at 7,200ft, getting 26 miles to the gallon is damn good for such an old car.
I just waxed her to make her feel better, so here are the pics.

Yes, Aren't those mats THE BOMB! Home made playas!

1983 datsun maxima, maaco black (maaco sucks), RWD, takes civics and pretty much all the non turbo/nitrous/super tuned up ricers, also it takes lower level mercedes and bmws. Great car, only in this past month or so shes been giving me trouble, otherwise shes been going great. Oh and a 2.5 performance exhaust, sounds like a muscle car at most rpms.

Also does anybody have a ecu for a 83-84 gas maxi?

If its hot outside and sunny- cover the ecu up with a piece of cardboard, sometimes on hot days mixed in with the sun the ecu can get too hot to last very long.

When your done we race

Yeah it's got a car cover on it for now and it's parked in the shade, so that's not an issue, but thanks for the advice. I'll let you know how the racing goes, we ran it once this summer and had a best of 17.1. It's running like crap right now, so we'll work on it and get it running right then see what happens. After that comes the turbo that's sitting in the garage

Unfortunately I'm at school in Virginia and the car is in Massachusetts. The earliest I would be able to take the lip off myself would be in November for Thanksgiving, but I can see what I can do about having a freind do it. I'm also not entirely sure what kind of shape it's in, I didn't look at it very closely. I'll let you know and contact you via PM from now on. If anyone wants any other parts off the car, let me know and I'll see what I can do.

I go to George Mason University in Fairfax. I don't know the area at all so I have no idea how far that is from you. And yeah that whole dashboard has to come out, we just didn't get to it because of how much crap there is behind it that will all come out. AC, heater, ducts, vents, lines, blower, everything is coming out.
