Maxima's from 1984-1988 have a recall notice. I don't have the link. It is VIN specific, so yours may not be affected. Do you smell fuel while driving the car?

Call 1-800-NISSAN-1. Have your VIN ready. The operator will ask for it, and then they'll enter it in their computer. You'll be able to find out if you have any open recalls. All of these VG motors are affected by the injector recall, included Z31's. It take about 2 minutes.

If there is an open recall on my car and the work hasn't been done, what are my options? Just take her to a dealer to have it repaired?

I would hope that it would help with my gas-guzzling problem. 10mpg in the city is not fun. Nor is 17mpg on the highway :P
