85 Maxima steering pump

How hard is it to change a fuel pump on a 85 maxima , anyone want to give me a step by step description.

It's not too bad. Just removed the passenger front wheel, splash shield, loosen the belt to the P/S pump, Remove the pump lines, then unbolt the pump from the car. Then you just do the reverse putting it back, and bleed the steering system.

All 2nd gen's do....infact I think every Maxima does...but don't quote me on that.

actually I think everything but GM vehicles use ATF. I know every nissan I ever owned did, up to and including my 2003, I know toyotas do, so I'm willing to bet that many foreign cars do. Fords also use ATF in the power steering.

that doesn't mean people actually used ATF in the power steering when they noticed it was low.

Also make sure you get the angle of the line on the bottom correct. Something like 37 degrees. I think it has to do with the alignment of the oil flow....
