1985 Maxima

I have a 1985 Maxima, v6 with 152 hp. Its already considerably fast for bein an old car (unfortuntally its auto). When i take it out i usually powershift it, and its beatin many civics who think they are fast. What mods can I do that would make it even faster and be a major sleeper car? I have around 1000 dollars to spend, any recommendations?

The thing about this particular car is that there werent a huge amount of aftermarket parts made for it. So anything you do get will either be A. expensive or B. hard to make yourself.

Free up the exhaust.
Larger exhaust pipe will help. Just goto a muffler shop with a good rep, and see how much to make one for you.
It cool to hear someone else power shifts there auto. That's what I do. But I did it because when I first got the car the tranny would shift hard, so I started shifting for it. Now I'm use to it, I don't need to but habit. I don't do it all the time, just when I gotta move fast.

Don't forget at least a custom CAI. Best bang for the buck.
