Door handles

I want to replace the door handles on my 87 Max. Has anyone ever done this or found any info on replacing them. The chrome on them are not in the best of shape and if I dont replace them, then I will probably get them painted the same color of the car. If anyone has any info I would appreciate it.

You can pull them off and repaint them. That's what I plan on doing....gotta get the car running first however.

Thanks S. I might just do that then. Im going to be getting my body kit pretty soon and remove the chrome from the front and rear bumpers. When I get all of that painted I'll throw the handles in. Do you know of any upgrades for the handles???

Off the top my head no. I would either paint your existing ones, or possibly find a set of SE handles, but you'd loose the keyless entry avaialble.

I dunno, if powder coating would make it more durable or not. I figure if use a good paint, and paint it properly, you should have problems.
