Check for any errors code from the ECM.

Read Pkfinn's post and link in the "sticky" section on the air regulator. That air regulator acts like a choke, mine could not be fixed but new one only $65.

My car will make the light thoop sound every now and then when cold. You can probably do some timing adjustments and tune up. Also check the operation of the EGR valve. The air regulator could also be the reason it's doing that. As the frequency of the sound is excessive, you probably won't have too much to worry about.

Oh yeah, be prepare to curse at the oil filter location....it's on the back side of the motor. I guarantee a PITA to get to. :P What kinda plugs you get? I usually like to stick with NGK stuff for the ignition myself.

Curse at the oil filter, that crack me up. Well I know how much it's a pain to get there when you have a hot engine.
