Gas Mileage

What's everyone getting for gas mileage with their Max?

Mine (86 wagon) gets about 180 miles per tank full with
a fill up of twelve gallons.

If this is correct, I'm getting about 15MPG.

I've seen on the Internet that the 86 Max should get at
least 18MPG...

Thanks!
Scott

I have the 15 gallon tank...usually need about 10-12 to fill up. I average about 250 miles a tank (mostly in town driving, slight lead foot). My worst mileage is about 16mpg, that's with lead foot driving and a lot of idling (in the winter I get to work early, and let the car run to keep the heat going). My best mpg was 29.5, went about 350 miles on a tank and added 12 gallons (mostly highway driving). Keep in mind my car is a stick. My average is about 20-25mpg.

I have an 85 Maxi and I usually get about 270 miles to a tank with a 12 gallon tank (highway and city combined). I notice that when crusing on the highway I average about 26-30 MPG (based on the trip computer). I too have a lead foot (how can you not in a Maxi?) so my in town mileage is usually a bit lower, around 18-22 MPG. I have never had any complaints about the way this car goes through gas and have found it to be a bit better than most of my friends with newer cars.

Fuel economy

I get high 20s regardless of wether I drive like a decent upstanding citizen or if I drive it the way it was meant to be driven you know what I mean.

however this all has changed since I've had this idle problem....
