I'm back!
Hi all, it's been awhile since I have been around to post anything. Just thought I'd drop in to leave an update as to how the turbo swap is working out so far.
All I can say is WOW! The car is performing better than expected and I have most certainly laid rest to many myths shrouded by speculation that many people had.
Short list:
- Stock maxima fuel pump is more than adequate. At 260kmp (and still accelerating at a healthy rate) and holding 40 psi on the fuel gauge, you tell me!!!
- Stock injectors, again, are more than adequate. No knocking, no pinging (on 92 octane fuel) and air-fuel ratio gauge in the green.
- Higher lift, higher duraction cams are a must and the 240Z race cam profile I used kicks some serious A$$!!! I have ZERO blow through.
- Reground cams are perfectly fine for the street, all that is being done is removing some of the base circle, not meat from the shaft itself. Mine are performing beaufifully.
- Using a BOV vented to the atmosphere works just fine, I have ZERO stall potential, have no idea what these other people are talking about! :-)
- And the list goes on.
I am contemplating selling Maximus as I am looking to move on to other projects. This baby has A LOT of work done to it. Don't be suprised if you see it show up in the classifieds section.
Anyway, keep on rockin guys!!! Email me anytime with questions.
Cheers!
