those stupid little irritating problems

ok 2nd day i have had this car and i am starting to notice those stupid little problems that most used cars have that are about my age...

i spent today washing and waxing it...took me from 10 am till 5 pm....(lots of oxidation...its shiny now!) and so i got a closer look at some things and tried out some of the little things when i had to wash and dry my was once white but is now black handy buffer pad...

this is what i noticed...power mirrors dont work, i have a middle vent stuck open and blowing on me constantly, i looked at the gap in between the bumper and the under side of the grille and i can see a suppory beam doing this : /\/\/\/...not as steep though...burnt out lights inclusing onf of my brights and a broken antenna motor assembly...

i checked all the fuses they are all fine so right now i'm going to work on the power mirrors and the antenna...

so what do you think? the fuses are fine and the mirrors arent disconnected but when i try to move the switch nothing happens on either side....i'm sure most of you guys have power mirrors so mabe you know...its an '87 by the way (dang i ramble alot...sorry)

mine used to do that...but then out of nowhere, they just started working. so would the A/C, hazard flashers, alternator field connector, etc.... it seems that loose electrical connections are a common culprit in these cars.

the first thing I'd check is the harness going back to the switch. it's not hard - sometimes you can pop the switch out with a screwdriver, other times you might have to take off the dash panel.

check the connector end and make sure it's on tight. make sure none of the prongs are bent and that there is no corrosion. it wouldn't hurt to take some electrical contact cleaner to it....

ok well i popped the hood today and looked arround....the AC compressor was completely unplugged so i plugged it back in....tried the ac off just the battery and when the car was on and it really made no difference...it mabe got 5 degrees colder than it was out side so i'm stuck on what the prob is with that....recharge only mabe? (hopefully) i dont think the guy we bought this thing from knew what he was talking about....and in the back of the engine compartment there was an end of a plug that i couldnt find the other end to connect it to....its in the back middle of the compartment under a black box i think are the wiper motors or sprayer motors or both...so....i'm stumped

tommorow i am taking the bumper cover off and fixing a gap in between the bumper and the fender on the drivers side...its an easy fix with a hammar and anvil.......i'll also get to check out the undercarrige of the bunper too...i think it may need to be replaced
