I am looking for one for an 87 Max, black preferably but it doesnt matter. I refuse to spend 275 on a new one, that is merely a piece of foam rubber with 8 bolts. I figured someone might have one on a parts car or something, and wouldnt mind getting rid of id. I bet there is a decent demand for them on the board, but figured it cant hurt to ask. Thanx in advance for any help. I am not sure why it didnt post right.

Here is one for the trunk lip spoiler. It's going for 29.99 on ebay.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33638

If that link doesn't work, go to ebay and do a search for "88 maxima"
As for the front air dam spoiler, you probably should go to a junkyard to find those.

Exellent! I didnt even think to look on Ebay, figured it would be too expensive. Thanx for the help! Now I just have to fix the small rust spots on my current trunklid. Winters suck, rusts the **** out of everything.

I need a rear spolier for my 87 Maxima

I own an 87 Maxima SE black in color. My current spoiler appears to be warping on the inside ledge. I need a new spolier and was wondering where you buy them and how much they are? The post above states the spoilers run $275.00. Is this true?

Please advise.

Thanks

Well I had a bid of 30 bucks on it for four days, and less than ten minutes till the end of the auction some guy bids 32 for it and wins, I figured I had it. I shouldnt have said anything, its probably someone from the board! Anyway, anyone know of a decent looking aftermarket spoiler for the car? It has that unique look, Im afraid nothing is going to mesh well with the car. Oh well.

The Nissan dealership charging $390 for a damn rubber spoiler doesn't surprise me in the least. They're a bunch of greedy bastards that could give two sh*ts about Nissans.

I priced simple weatherstripping and window trim and that alone came to well over $1000. And there's a lot of other parts that I'd like to get brand new to restore the car, but it would probably end up costing me more than I paid for the car 3 years ago.

So, since the dealership refuses to sell their parts for a reasonable price, there's no way I could afford to restore the car. I don't mind if they want to make a profit, every business is entitled to, but they're just ripping people off since they have a monopoly over the parts.

Well I said screw it, and found a way around it. I am going to remove the rusted mounting stri from the backside of the spoiler, clean it up good as well as clean the trunklid good, and epoxy the damn thing right to my car. Screw Nissan and their outrageous prices.

Breakthrough! I may be able to get them for 100 plus shipping if anyone is interested. The guy who I talked to is a respectable E Bayer and also has a truck and auto accessory business, so no worries about getting shafted. If you are interested reply, the price goes down as the quantity goes up..

Hell yeah! I am awaiting his reply, they are the stock foam rubbery type material. I am unsure how you would be able to paint it though, is there a special paint for plastic that can flex a bit? He wants around 100 plus 23 for shipping, which isnt bad considering they want 275 for one anywhere else.

The most I will pay for that piece of s__t rubber spoiler is $30.00! My spoiler is fine except it's beginning to warp up a little. I'm repainting my Max at Maaco at $570.00 with clear coat out the door. Yes, they can paint that spoiler. Nissan only makes it in silver now. A body guy quoted me $100.00 to paint it and that's still to high. I think $40.00 is reasonable.

I've decided to just remove it all-together and fill the holes. Makes the trunk lid lighter too...... The spoiler does add to the look of the SE model but with the hassle Nissan makes on these parts... it's just not worth it. I'm gonna buy a fairly new black Dodge Laramie SLT sport in the near future. I love my black 87' Max and after 11 years of ownership it will be hard to part ways. My garage queen is 2001 Camaro SS.

I'm a successful real Estate dude now but back in the early 90's I was an out of work Actor living in my Max in the Hollywood Hills. The max was good to me! You guys here would be very impressed if you saw a pic of it. I took off all the labels and stickers and people always ask me what kind of car is that.

You gonna have to let us know how that paint job goes. I've heard stories about Maaco and how their paint booths are dusty, and how the dust shows up in your paint. I want to paint my car...but I don't have the big bucks to spend.
