I would say buy some skyline parts i.e. tranny front differential and maybe 2nd gen front hubs and some fabricating. might as well go with a RB cuz your going to need a different oil pan, maybe

but what about the REAL PARTS EVERYONE IS LOOKING FOR like interior, spoilers, air dams, ground effects and so on!!!

i talked to a guy in canada that said if i could just send him a broken front lip he can cast a new mold and sell them for 160$!!!

nissan no longer sells front or rear spoilers for 2nd gens,no one has body kits or interior parts either and if someone doesnt cause enough hype NO ONE will have or sell parts for 2nd gens!!!!!!

these cars are getting crushed right and left and pretty soon there will be none left!!!

mark my words on that!!! pretty soon NONE OF US WILL HAVE OUR CLASSIC 2ND GENS!!!

Looking for wheels...

I'm trying to locate a set of the 15x114.3 factory alloys found on the 1985-1986 Maxima XE/SE models. I don't need tires, however, I do want the full set with center caps. I have a factory set of 87-88. Willing to purchase or trade.

Thanks,

A.J. of JASSICS.COM

Digital to Analog

Hi everyone. I am new to this forum as I have decided to start restoring my 87 2nd gen. I have an analog gauge set and would like to see if I can get some insight as to what I need to do to connect it. Thanks!

did they have the recall i n costa rica on the injectors if so thats the problem, you prolly for the after injectors because they changed the injector wiring harness, that could be your problem or maybee its the ecu and the injectors dont match up.

This is just a guess, but on the MAF (Mass Air Flow meter), if this is a new code, the trouble might come later....the wire grid inside the MAF is supposed to get really hot after shutting down the engine, to burn off any crud that gets on it. If it's not doing this the crud may build up and it will stop sensing properly. If this happens the ECU may put you in "limp" mode. I've had to swap out 2 MAF's (on 2 different cars)...don't think there's any way to repair these and it's expensive if you don't have a parts car to pull a good used one from.

On the TPS (Throttle Position Sensor) - it's on the side of the throttle body, opposite where the throttle cables attach to the half pulley that turns the metal 'wafer' in there to open and close it. I've had to replace this once too - it's just a cheap plastic shell with some metal contacts inside, but when mine went the car barely ran...I thought I had gotten some really crappy gasoline but it was the TPS.

The other 2 I don't have any experience with.

Oh - intercoolers...turbo I have no experience with either, but what I've read is that the intercooler cools the air before it goes in causing a higher density of air and a "significant" increase in power boost.

Nice looking lady in the pics with your car.

the tps sensor is right behind the manifold it will have 2 lil screws hold in it inun screw the 2 screws so theyre loose and adjust as needed.

the feul temp sensor is on the feul pressure regulator its porlly unplugged or bad

vehicle speed sensor: on your 87 you should have the speedo cable that runs from the back side of the tranny to the gauge cluster then wires that go from the cluster to the ecu

5 hp you wont notice anything could be true but nissan really knows for sure. the m30 came with 162hp basically the same motor minus the intake manifold, but the vg's did change over the years tho...

i know this thread is old but couldnt help notice that i couldnt find anything about ecu mod witch i find to be more importent then flashy gages ( dont take my words harshly) but the mod im talking about and ive done on my own 85 max was install a 86-87 300zx ecu on it (its a direct bolt on but if your car is auto get an auto 300zx ecu). if your wondering wat are the benifits of this mod its simpole, it has a a more agresive full and timeing map witch will increase your throttel response and smooth out your idel (well it smoothed it out on mine) and incress your rev limit by 500rpm. onother thing witch i didnt find on the mod list was M.S.D. ingnition coil and box (it wont be nesecerry to get the M.S.D. box with the built in rev limiter sice the ecu has a built in rev limit of 6000 rpm just to save monye)
i also hear that z32 4pot frunt caterpilers bolt right up (seen it on some max online ill see if i find the link)

so they are:
300zx ecu
m.s.d ingnition
z32 4pot caterpillers

p.s. if any of this info. has been posted some whear els on the forem, sorry but i didnt see it in this thread.....
p.p.s. for got to mention if you have an 85-86 you cant use a newer 300zx ecu since the newer 87-88 z i belive came with a knock sensor i coud be wrong.. but just check the diagrames...

the msd is universal ther is no kit for it it bolts wright up to any car. all you have to do is remove the stock coil and use the coil triger signal to triger the msd (u must leave the transistor on just remove the coil) it fearly simpal all thats needed is the manuel and son electrical knowledge. i have one in my 0-gen 810 datsun....

p.s. nice caterpiler i wish i coud just bolt them on to my car

apparently so since there all z32's but just to be safe get the earlier z32 caterpillars just to play it safe... but like big_e-dog said make sure your rimes will clear the caterpillars cuz i know the stock rims wont clear.
