new amp and subs..need help on install w/ factory HU

Im pretty much a newbie with my Maxima and especially audio..I just purchased a Coustic 401DB D-Block Amp and 2 10" Coustic CF1044 CarbonFiber Subs..I got the amp installation kit from Monster Cable which includes Remote, Ground, Power, fuse kit, and signal cable..Im gonna hook this up to the stock BOSE HU...is there anything else I need to purchase in order for my install to go smoothly..being that I have a BOSE system I wasnt sure if anything extra was needed?! Im planning on installing all this stuff tomorrow so any help before than would be appreciated..thanx

Yes you need to get the PAC AOEM-NIS1 kit. It will allow you to integrate your amp and subs with the Bose system. It is very easy to install once you get the head unit out. I put one of these in myself, and it works great. The only roblem is that now I have to turn the bass to -5 on the Bose HU!

Not sure if Circuit City carries it, but I think '02 Style had a typo.

What you need is the AOEM-NIS2 kit.

The FAQ link at the top of this section has a pretty detailed diagram of how to go about it. Look at it and ask if you have any questions. I did it myself for the first time a couple weeks ago. Was actually pretty easy. The hardest part is removing the vents at the top. That can be done by popping the module out using a flathead screwdriver wrapped in a cloth and either working at it from the sides or the bottom.

MetaOrbit was right. My orginal response did have a typo. I just put the unit in my car a couple weeks ago. I have VERY LITTLE experience with car audio, but it wasn't that bad. Definitely not worth paying a shop $50+ to do. The hardest part was running the 4 gauge power wire from the battery to my amp in the trunk, and even that wasn't worth paying someone to do!

It is not a very hard install. I recently finished mine. Especially with that PAC AOEM-NIS2 kit. That is basically plug and play. All you do from that is run your RCA cables to the trunk and the remote turn on. Beware circuit city. I can almost guarantee that if they do it, they will use a basic line-out converter and it will not sound as clean as the PAC kit.

I HIGHLY recommend www.affsave.com. I ordered on a Wednesday afternoon and had it thursday morning. I am in the same state, but I still think you could have it quick. Might be a little extra than the 59.95 though.
