Got my best mph

So I decided to go to the track last night to run my buddy's car. He just got a 96 Eclipse gs-t. Bone stock, owned by a 55 year old female doctor. He thought that he could out run me. So we went to OSW last night for a little grudge match. We both had horrible first runs, I ran a 15.3 @ 94 mph, hitting the rev limiter in 1st and 2nd. My second run was after an hour and a half delay from a Duster spilling oil down the entire track. So I ran a 14.992 @ 95.21 mph (My best mph so far) with a 2.325 60 foot. He ran a 15.624 @ 90.88 mph with a 2.593 60 foot. And this run made me realize how horrible my struts are in the front. 2 runs after my run a kid with a brand new BMW M3 coupe, launched 2 hard and lost control and hit the wall. He did a complete 360 from the left lane and hit the wall with the right rear of is car. Deploying airbags. From what we got, it was his dads car and he lived in Tampa. Not a good night for him.

man it seems as if someone always spills oil everytime at OSW causing those crazy delays. do you have the stock air box? if you do maybe you should throw it on and see what your times are like unless you already tried that. i use to have an Injen on my car and it really suffered low end.

With that mph you should be running much quicker than 14.9...get your 60 ft times down! Congrats on the new PB trap though.

I ran a best of 14.8 @ 94 mph w/o Intake and my PB time is 14.7 @ 95.17. Why is the intake hurting my times?

Trust me, so do I. Problem is that this track is not the best, and it is always 85 + degrees, with a track temp near 100 degrees. Hopefully I can do exhaust soon and lower my time a bit.

I would just practice launching. It pretty much all comes down to how you get off the line.

Heat soak. Once your car gets going or if it is cold out, that shouldn't be much of an issue. On a hot night though, with the cooling fan blowing hot air from the radiator onto the filter, you will probably have a softer launch. Once the car is moving and cooler air is moving through the engine bay you will be fine.
