I went to the track last night and got my new PB times shaving .32 off my best of last year. Strangly though my best time I had my worst RT of the night 14.54 w/ .45 RT. That was my first run of the night and my RT was terrible. I don't get it on my last run I had my PB RT of .021 and only ran 14.61??? I'm starting to think that my car likes to run hot, last year I had the same thing my best run was my 1st of the night. I'm thinking the car pulls more timing when its hot and the tranny seems to shift better after the 80 mile ride. Any way here are my times.
that is sweet... cant wait to do my suspension mods so i can shave my times off...

your reaction times have nothing to do with your overall time.

Good runs. But wow, 80 miles to closest track? I feel lucky then only having to travel 15 miles.

Use the upper portion of your Injen Intake and you pickup some time! I got Cattman Headers plus everything else you've got minus the NWP spacers and those Vogtland springs, I'm running (Progress/Illuminas), 18" Ace Alloys Wheels (17lbs ea),etc.... and In the auto mode "D" posted 14.68@93.35 and 60'@ 2.171, I will be back out with new NGK Iridium plugs, New coil packs and NWP spacers. Since it's like I"m losing power up top and not getting all the acceleration around the 2-3 shift, I'll loose the lower section of my Injen just for testing purposes!

I was thinking of trying that, maybe next time, you think it would make a big difference?

What do you mean use the upper portion of your Injen intake?

It isn't a one peice intake! You've got the upper portion with the MAF connected to it...and then you've got the lower portion that has the filter attached to it! Remove the filter from the lower and install it on the upper portion's Maf adapter! 5 minutes! You'll eat more hot air but I pick up mph on this freeway feeder that I use to test on! I'll be out @ the track if we can get a non-raining weekend!
i could never prove a difference between a cold air intake or a short ram, i had 2 short rams n 1 cold air... times were similar

Went back again and got a new PB not by much but still better. The only change I made was the DR mod and OMG how much better the shifts are I was amazed I didn't think it would be that noticable, not so much in my time but my trap speed was the highest I've had. Anyway here are the new time 14.48 @96.1 w/ 2.253 60'
Yea I still need somemore practice I can't seem to figure out the best way to launch, though that was my best 60' so far I think I can do better. Any tips for launcing the automagic, I've been launching around 1800 RPM but I want to try launching at higher RPMs but my brakes won't seem to hold too much more.
Press hard as a motha on the breakes mines go to about 2200 before it starts to be too much... im also practising my launch also, i've tried launching at 2000 and i end up running an 18.1 due to spinning... with no suspension mods there really isnt much u can do to help ur 60' (speaking from an auto standpoint)

Yes, it will tested it on a section of vacant road and my MPH to this certain landmark was higher with the upper section only and when flooring it, (WOT) my wideband went to 12.2 and settled around 12.5-12.8 AFR which is perfect. The entire Injen registered 13.1 when stumped and settle around 12.6 AFR. IMO that extra fuel during acceleration helped my pick up some mph better than the 13.1. Best mean torque AFR for N/a engine is 12.5, best mean hp is 12.8, and more hp can be had at a leaner AFR but I'll see where I land with the next few mods B4 I purchase a SAFC-Neo.

This video might help you. If you don't spin at all, you might bog a bit out of the hole but if you haze the tires LIGHTLY that might help you out.
I am not roasting the tires, just spinning them enough to keep the engine from bogging out of the hole, which can cost you as much time as spinning hard.
....and yes, I am aware my car seems a touch off, once I got the SES taken care of (P0037, low voltage bank 1 rear O2), I got a P0420 (bank 1 precat) so I think I have some excess backpressure which seems to limit acceleration at higher speeds. Plus I keep 100-125 pounds of detailing stuff in my trunk and my speedometer reads 3 mph slow at 85 mph according to my GPS.
You can see in this video, without spinning, my car seems a bit sluggish from 0-20 or so-but pulls harder on top end since the first video was shot about 2 minutes after the first so the engine was running warmer on the second run.
Of course, I did not do these runs on public streets, that would be illegal.
Oh yeah, your reaction times. Like others pointed out, reaction times have nothing to do with your ET. The timer doesn't start until you break the second beam. Until you get a good feel for your car and how quickly it responds to your right foot, shallow stage (creep until you just light the second staging light) and leave on the last yellow. Once you get that down, you can experiment by deep staging by continuing to creep up after the second staging light is lit but stopping just before it would go out (takes some practice). Gives you a slight head start (unless the other guy deep stages). That will help you reduce your reaction time but you may redlight a few times until you figure out exactly where to stage and leave on the last yellow without fouling. Takes some practice but once you get it down you will be a lot more competitive when running brackets.
