13.1-N/A, 12.4-75shot, pics, slips... vid. -5.5 Gen

Updated thread: Video can be found at these 3 links. The first link you see the full run, other 2 they cut me out.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HDz_fIHZgig This was one of my first runs, 12.6@111

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L7u7P...eature=related This was my 112 trap run... bastards pan off me at the end, but you hear them saying "12.5"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=235mplAK3uo This was on a low bottle, but one of my better launches.

modlist: Short ram, NWP spacers, SSIM, Cattman headers/Ypipe, NX 75 shot, 1 step colder plugs, M/T 24.5x8x15 ET drag, 2* timing advance and unbolted catback (open Y-pipe).

Best ET on a low bottle on my 9th run of the day only 20mph gain in top 1/8:

Best MPH on my 2nd run out vs a turbo viper... 24 mph gain in the last 1/8th!:

Best N/A run:

Another N/A run:

Other than those runs, I had a ton of 12.5-12.7 runs in the 109-111 trap range. As the bottle ran lower I got better at launching and was popping off 12.5-12.6's with low 109 and some 108 traps... I wish I had brought another bottle with me. That 12.4 could have been a bit better!

I burned the crap out of my clutch a few times when it decided to slip (mostly at the top of 1st and all though 2nd gear) and drove home smelling clutch the whole way back.

I'm pretty sure my current setup has a very low 12 in it with a better '60, and with a little up in shot (100 or 125) it could pull a high 11.

damn, that video that i took did suck! i didnt think it was that bad...
but, yeh, guys this car is fast. just imagine what he'll run when the clutch is fixed, he ups the shot, and gets it tuned!

im sure he wont have a problem with me telling his mods:
6 spd, ssim, short ram, headers all the way back (stock bpipe), nwp spacers...untuned, on 75 shot.

oh, and im pretty sure you ran a best n/a time of 13.0x with a 300 lb. guy riding shotgun in the car!!!

I sprayed in 3rd/up with Jaques in the car, so the 13.0 with jaques wasn't N/A.

Steven hit the mods, but just to reiterate:

Short ram, NWP spacers, SSIM, Cattman headers/Ypipe, NX 75 shot, 1 step colder plugs, M/T 24.5x8x15 ET drag, 2* timing advance.

Honestly I thought my N/A trap speeds would be 2-3 MPH lower considering I am not tuned, but I guess yesterday was pretty perfect for me with it being 40-50 degrees.

Just to note, on my street tires (245/45/18) I trapped 103.6 N/A... so the diameter of the slicks made a HUGE difference in my trap speed.

Crazy how little mods it took to get you that deep in the 13s N/A

Everytime I talk myself out of getting headers I see a post like this.lol

It's a pretty big difference, but be prepared for your car to sound completely different as well.

I will be getting a UTEC so I can extend the rev limiter and have N/A and nitrous maps separate pretty soon. Just saving some extra $ for school next sememster and the holidays or I'd have it now.

Oh and just another note, I will be upping the shot to 100 along with a 2nd bottle and the clutch/suspension stuff for next season. I'm aiming for a high 11 pass next time I hit the track.

Oh, this is excellent! Another nitrous-powered rocket ship! You have done remarkable work there - and on a slipping clutch, too.....

The world needs another 11-sec Maxima - go do it.

Yeah no need for injectors on a wet kit.

My window switch was set from 2500-6600 rpms... I was spraying at around 2500-3000 in first, depending on where my RPMs hit when I finished slipping the clutch and I floored it.

hey bro. great job!

change that starting nitrous RPM to like 1800 or 2000 and you'll launch a whole lot better and will drop your time a couple tenths. when i had that kit i had it set at 1600 i think. as long as its in first gear and WOT its ok to start spraying that low. dang....that might be a close 11 right there!

He'd probably need to run more than a 75 shot to hit 11s. I know he pulled a 12.9 N/A, but that was also on tuned timing advance. You'd need to reduce it for spray and wouldn't gain as much power from N/A > spray as my car did with untuned almost stock timing. I hope he does spray it though!

I might try that... It's just by the time I fully engage the clutch I'm usually above 2500 anyway. (6 speed). I'm going to experiment with different methods, though.

Damn bro, that's impressive, I wish my Max could've pulled some times like that with my I/H/E setup but no luck for me. I see 12's in your near future and maybe 11's with some nitrous. Now if we could somehow get a 5.5gen in the low 12's N/A...that would be sick.

I think with a full tune and extended rev limiter (UTEC) there's a good chance of high/mid 12s. Low 12s would probably take a full N/A build.

more slips as promised

Best ET... notice how i only gained 20 mph on the top end, nitrous bottle was getting low... around my 6th run.

Best MPH, 24 mph gain in top 1/8th. 2nd run of the day.

Best N/A run

Another N/A run, not bad

chris all you need is some 1 step colder plugs and you should go from 14.2's-13.2's

Yeah or maybe he could upgrade from a 2.4 to a 1.9 '60 foot... ever think that's why I ran so much faster N/A???? Is there a reason for your veiled sarcasm?

untuned =/= that TS reflash? I'm not sure I understand that logic. Other than fine tuning with an AFC, you have all the timing, rev limit, and CVTC maps that make a tune great. My A/F is something like 10.5:1 up top right now lol. I think I'm gaining MPH on you from the smaller diameter of the slicks... I ran a 103.5 trap on my street tires, and went up to the 105-106 range on the 24.5" slicks. I think slicks make a bigger diff than people are giving credit for. Not just for mph, but '60 times, I had a couple of aborted/clutch slipping N/A runs that were deep in the 1.8's as well. I went out on street tires for a ran and spun out ran a 2.5 '60 and a 14.2@103.5 lol....

Can you explain what are 1/2 the mods? Do you have cams and other stuff that I'm unaware of? I was running with a full intake, SSIM, spacers, headers/Ypipe (cattman gen3) and an OPEN ypipe.. so the breathing mods can't be upgraded much more. The only things you can really have that ADD POWER over me are internals and a tune, and I know you have the tune, although you don't seem to consider it that.

well iam just saying ive seen/raced against chris a couple of times and i find it hard to believe his could run low 13's with his/your Mods but your right you had a 1.9 60' which is a big Diff slicks and Street tires are a major Diff but what did you run with reg. Street tires and what was your timeslip??? (R/t, 60', 1/8, 1/4)??
