All Motor VE Auto does 13.79@100.3mph -->

I am so excited! I had a great night at the drag strip. It was the first time I raced since I ran my 14.30 in South Florida in crappy weather on a crappy track. Now I'm in Eastern NC with decent weather and a decent track.

Conditions:

Temp: 55*F
Baro: 30.33
Hum: 36%
Air Density: -601 feet
Slicks: 25 psi

On this particular run, I raced a 2006 Monte Carlo SS. He was running high 13s all night long. So I lined up against him to try my luck after I was running 13.8s all night long. I ran 13.79 to his 13.96. He got a jump on me b/c of his redline RT, but I instantly pulled a car length on him in the 60' and we stayed even the entire way down the track. We didn't pull on each at all. It was a very fun race.

Wow, great stuff Aaron. I don't think that record will be broken soon. Great 60 for an auto too, I think the best I did on the 2k2 3.5 was 1.992. The converter must be a big help and of course all the other little and big things you have put together fir a formidable package. Probably not too many would believe your not FI at the track.

PS I am awaiting my 3rd converter from Andre before i can get my engine installed. He keeps sending one with the wrong bolt pattern but I think this one will do the trick.

I drive the car whenever I want to drive it. So it is my streetable beater.

I do not race in street trim though. I have done about 550lbs worth of weight reduction to it. I have gutted the interior and put on slicks. I do drive it to the track though. And I just swap out a couple parts and I'm ready to run 13s!

I chose to go with the BRK4E-11 NGK plugs. That is one step hotter than stock.

They pinged a little sooner. But to make up for it, I had to retard the timing by 4 degrees in order to get to the same threshold I was at with the stock plugs.

Then I added a mixture of 100 octane and jacked the timing back up and everything was fine. I got my AFR around 13:1 too with a Nismo Adjustable Fuel Pressure Regulator.

I am still running on the stock ECU. I need to get it tuned SOON.

i really have to hand it to you. i ripped my maxima apart to remove the sound deadining. i have pulled tons of misc. junk from under the hood. right now im in the process of gutting my SE-R. none of the work is fun and i know how much work you have put in the car. it takes a great deal of time. its nice to see those times drop after doing mods. every smashed knuckle, banged funny bone, scrape, and cut are all worth it in the end.

Oh man, you hit the nail on the head. It's fun to talk to people at the track that are so surprised when they see the times post up on the board.

Last night, I must have talked to 20 different people telling them all what I did. All of them asked, "Where's the gas?" (As in nitrous). There were people walking up to my car constantly. I haven't gotten this much attention in a long time. 13s must be the magic number. Then again, I haven't run my car at the drag strip in almost a year. I've been too busy trying to make it faster!

HEY! I haven't ordered the board yet. But I plan to really soon. I think PLMS is my only option. Do you know of anybody else?

Why are you getting an AT ECU?

Yeah, Go PLMS you wont regret it. Great quality. Im getting an auto ecu to try and find the variable intake rpm and load values without fumbling through the subroutines in the rom disassembly I have. Looking at all that code is such a pain. (Only cause I just started working with it.)

You know the VE Auto doesn't have a variable intake? I'm sure the ECU doesn't have that value. If it does, then I need to tap into it instead of using my RPM switch with my variable intake.

Im hoping it doesnt so I can compare the two and find it. If it does then Ive just got another ECU to play with. I believe it may have similar code with just those values changed, but Ill find out soon enough.

Yeah, I'm happy, but I haven't thrown any raging keggars. But, that is a good idea!

I am hoping to get a little recognition for my 1/4 mile times. Maybe MOTM or some other little feature on another website. I have boldly gone where no other 3L Maxima could ever go, or was willing to go.

On www.dragtimes.com, I think I'm the 12th fastest Maxima on that list. That includes a lot of FI'd guys too. I know there are a TON of Maximas that aren't on that list yet, but need to be. And the only NA Maxima that is faster than me is SR20DEN in his 3.5 6spd with a 12.8.

Oh no, I didn't take your statement like that. I see that Juice and Neal are already on that list. You need to make sure your times are up there too.

My next goal is to get my ECU tuned.. FINALLY. Once it's tuned, I might try another NA record. But now that the weather is warming up, the record probably won't come until this Fall at the soonest.

My next realistic goal after that is to make my turbo setup. I am collecting parts as the money comes in, buck by buck. Since I don't make a lot of money, the turbo parts collecting process may take a while.

SR20DEN wants to come out and run on the eastern side of the state. There is Fayetteville and Kinston. Both are very fast tracks. Fayetteville is the better track though. In my experience, considering exact weather conditions, Fayetteville is .05 faster than Kinston. And you probably have a better chance of gaining full traction at Fayetteville.

I will probably join you guys one day if you want to get a mini meet together on this side of the state instead of The Rock.

If you knew my Dad, like Aaron and Malik do, you would know how I was raised. Z's are cool, but you cannot get the power. I am building a 466 Ford RIGHT NOW, that is going to exceed 700hp/700tq, the price? $3,500.00-$4,000.
