New personal best!

42 was friggin PACKED tonight. I am never going on a friday night again, but I am glad I went this time. To think I thought about jsut doing one run and leaving due to the amount of people there.
New personal best:

Run 1
Reaction: +0.266
60': 2.277 (one of my better 60's)
330': 6.231
1/8ET: 9.450 (not quite as good as my previous best of 9.391 at Magnolia but close)
1/8MPH: 76.64 (close to my best)
1000': 12.132 (about 0.25s lower than my best)
1/4ET: 14.461 (I was very excited about this run. It is almost 0.3s lower than my previous best.)
1/4MPH: 98.20 (Wow... almost 3mph more than my previous best. This is what made me decide to stay and see what I could really do.)

Good 60' foot but I spun off the line and bogged when I tried to get it under control.

Run 2
Reaction: +0.311
60': 2.230 (Wow my best to date beating my previous 2.241)
330': 6.114
1/8ET: 9.309 (Sweet! Beat my best (9.391) at magnolia where I figured I would have ran high 14.4 to low 14.5)
1/8MPH: 76.25
1000': 11.987 (beats run 1 by almost 0.15s!)
1/4ET: 14.302 (and there it is... I am very satisfied with this number. So close to 14.2s and my goal)
1/4MPH: 99.52 (This stunned me when I saw it. I didnt think I was that close to the 100mph mark)

I think I giggled when I read this slip

Run 3
Reaction: +0.453 (yeah my rxn time just kept getting worse)
60': 2.234
330': 6.118
1/8ET: 9.325
1/8MPH: 75.63
1000': 12.011
1/4ET: 14.334
1/4MPH: 99.57

This one goes to show that my best wasnt just a one time fluke thing. I would be so close to 14 flat if I were RWD and had more in the range of 2.0-2.1 60's. I wonder how much betteer I would be doing with an HLSD instead of this crappy open differential. There were a lot of fast cars there tonight but for some reason my first run was against a riced out, fart-canned, aluminum-winged early 90s civic. I destroyed his ****, beating him by 2.351s. The second one was against a mildly riced newer civic which did better but I still beat him by 1.827s. The 3rd was against a beat older eclipse or talon who had a really really crappy luanch (2.959 60') I beat him by 1.9771s.

Specs and track prep:
2003 SE 6spd with OBX catback, TS ECU, K&N caothanger GAB, 235/45/17 Falken Zeix, 25psi in front 35psi in back, removed all weather mats and trunk stuff except for jack (how do you get that damn thing out?! lol)

those numbers are pretty decent. i think with a better 60' you can be at 14.1. is the 2003 255 or 265 hp. 14.3 is not slow by any chance and dang if you add forced induction forget it. if your really serious about some good times get some drag radials and hit 14.0 easy. i went from 14.0 secs to 13.5 secs just with drags. you will be shocked to see instead of standing still you will actually feel the car move and that equals better times.

The 03 is supposed to be 255hp but it isnt. I dynoed at 205.7whp/222.6wtq stock and from what I understand those numbers are on the high end.
My goal is 300hp or 14.000(+/-)0.050 street legal without removing the seats or such and corrected for altitude. I could probably be close to the 300hp when I add the headers or if I get better at the luanch I could be near the 1/4ET goal I have now. Drag radials dont fit into my goal. I might do it for fun sometime but I wont count it towards my goal.

If I corrected for altitude (700ft) using this site for information:
http://www.corvetteactioncenter.com/...s/quarter.html
and extrapolated the data to find the factor for 700ft I would have run 14.215 @ 100.11mph

you can reach 14 secs without changing the legality of your car. my car is still street legal with over 350 hp. you have a better chance at 14 secs n/a than i did with my year n/a. and when you do add the headers and get a better launch you shouldn't have a problem.

Thanks guys. What I meant by legality is that I dont want to have to use slicks or go catless or whatever else that renders you illegal to reach my goals.

racing radials are street approved for riding anywhere . i drive on mine to the track and they ride pretty nice. i still have my cat and everything else to pass inspection. but what i have realized is that you will never hit the right numbers with your car unless you come prepared to hit them. there are a lot of things you can do to hit 14secs or better n/a but you have to decide how your gonna do it and there are plenty of legal ways.
