Ehehehe...don't mind me. Welcome to the ORG.

The Maxima should win both drivers being equal. Get a y-pipe and REALLY dust him.

Damn dude I smoke those in my auto (y-pipe and intake) and I prolly could take it with my 5speed 240 which is sligtly modded. Need to practice driving better.

In the a straight arrow race, the maxima should own the spec v. Those cars are better for twists and turns than straight races. But that's another story...

Not in stock form. SpecV's have proved disapointing in the handling dept. Either their height, tires, susp setup or something. Neither car is a great handler out of the dealership. Probably a close race in the 1/4.

The maxima is the faster car stock for stock and mod for mod. Equal drivers = maxima winning. More power, more torque, not much more weight, better gearing from what I hear, and it responds much better to modifications.

i'm gonna have to say Spec V. I was driving to drop my car off to get something fixed and my neighbor was following me in his Spec...i floored it and he stayed on my rear and eventually had to downshift from ending up in my backseat. all i can say is those 4 bangers have so much low end torque it's amazing, and it's not to bad in mid-high also.

With a good driver, the Max should win. It'll be a very close race though.

I say that it will be a pretty close race.
Unless you just suck at driving the Max, you should take him though. You just have more torque and ought to be be able to take him off the line, and then not let him catch up. All depends on the launch.
They are light, so it should be interesting.
Let us know what happens.

But that's the thing, the SE'R Spec V is strong off the line too. If the Max driver sucks, he's toast. Test drive a Spec V, those cars can run.

well that is a different story then. if the max driver sucks, that means they are not both good drivers, only the sentra driver is.

I raced one a couple of weeks ago with friend in the car. They are descent, but I still beat him pretty bad.. I could tell the Spec V I raced had at least an intake. I would say a 5speed Max is faster.

the Spec V should be running really low 15's with those mods, or even high 14's.

The Maxima should be about the same..

a 5.5 Gen Maxima? now that would smoke them both!
