Are 60' times directly related to 1/4 mile times?

My best run 2 weeks ago was:

R/T .658
60' 2.286
330 6.430
1/8 9.878@70.95
1000 12.851
1/4 15.358@89.35

I had a great launch, good 1/8 time, but slow traps. With a TB cleaning, and shifting into 4th my new PB is:

R/T .561
60' 2.453
330 6.558
1/8 9.932@72.60
1000 12.832
1/4 15.282@91.54

Now I belive if I had a great launch like 2 weeks ago I could have been running about 15.1. After reading/looking over h2kPinkPanthr's 14.788 @ 91.74 (2.159 60') and VeeTec's 14.715@92.34 (2.104 60') runs I belive its all in the launch...am I correct? If so then to break into the 14's its all about the traction? I know I have to ease off the line or I will spin my tires likes there is no tomorrow.... so it is slowing me down. We are all making about the same hp and the traps show that, but they had great launches. What is their secret?

Yeah all about the launch... and I've also learned that you need to adapt the way you launch to changing track conditions as the day goes on. Traction in the morning is way different from the afternoon.

with a better 60 in that second run, lets say 2.2 you would have been in the 15.0 area im thinking

10to1: how's epping this year? I almost headed up there tonight, but had to talk myself out of it. need to study for finals... crappy. But i'll be headin back to the track soon, 2 weeks from today I think. Maybe we should do another Maxima meet at the track night.

the track was real crappy on 4/24 as you can see by my slow 60' times. Also the last 2 times I went cars blew up so it was not fun waiting for the clean up crew. Most Fridays will be packed, I got 1 run in on 4/17, so I dont recommend going down those days. I was lucky on the 24th because it was on the verge of raining so I got to make 13 passes! I am having a blast racing though, so for me it's worth the drive. Wednesdays are less packed but I don't go down because of work. I'd love a meet sometime.... no rush we've got all summer long.
