For me, I get best results by holding brake and pushing the throttle until I reach the highest stall I can.. 1800. And launch that sucker and I only get a chirp. But for you, you will burn them down. It's just a matter of easing on the throttle for you and see how traction is for that particular track on that particular day.

Aaron, if I have the b a l l s to stab the throttle while at a stop light, I risk going over the sidewalk and into somebodys lawn, the torquesteer monster is pretty vicious. That being said, you're right. You gotta study other fwd launches on the day you go, gotta ask how well the track is gummied up, pay attention to weather. If its cold than hell, your trap will spike, but your ets may suffer, if its too warm, you may hook up well, but lose it top end. Its always a trade off, but that's the fun part of taking it to the strip.
On an 02, 03, you want to do exactly what Aron says. Braketorque from 1100-1700 rpm is cool, come off brake quickly, and ease throttle until you are out of the hole, then mash it. No use in getting crappy ets, because that WILL guarantee you will get back in line and flog your Maxima again.
