14.404@100.49mph... need help, why are my times so slow??
Hey guys, i just ran my car last night and i came up with these times...
Sorry my digi cam is broken right now...so ill write them out...
Slip one : best time..
R/T: .673
60': 2.312
330': 6.393
1/8: 9.514
mph: 79.74
1000': 12.175
1/4: 14.404 @ 100.49
Slip two : best mph
r/t: .725
60': 2.324
330': 6.399
1/8: 9.544
mph: 79.56
1000: 12.208
1/4: 14.425 @ 101.44
Condition : 70's, tires set at 23psi front, 1/4 tank of gas, 1100psi for the bottle...
My mods are : Budget Y, Homemade intake, dynomax dual exhuast, 75shot NOS wet, Exedy Stage 1 clutch...
I was wondering my are my times off, i was expecting much lower 14s if not a 13.9. Now i know my 60fts are off .2 tenths, but my mph is insanely high, no?
I ran about 7-8 runs between 14.4-14.6 all at 100mph
I also ran my car one run all motor since i ran out of bottle pressure, and i could only come up with a pathetic 15.388 @ 90.03 mph w/ a 2.387 60ft...Doesnt that mph seem too low??!?
The track seemed pretty damn slick, cuz im used to 2.1-2.2 60fts, not these insanely high 2.3-2.4 60fts....
Also, while im at it, can anyone tell the the proper jets for a 75shot too? A shop i got them from told me something like 42nitrous-26fuel for a NOS kit...

that mph looks right to me ! your traps with the juice are out of this world !
i agree on the 60' time. when you hook up, your going to destroy 14.4 !
awesome .. i need some juice or a supercharger !
almost forgot: how were you launching, and at what rpms?

Yeah, my juicing traps are pretty damn high. I tried SOOO many different launches, almost every run i launched different just because the track felt like it had oil/water on it. I was launching any where from 2000-rpms (very low i know) to 3500-ish rpms, and slipping the clutch, nothing helped. I think i managed my two best with my normal 2800-ish rpm slip clutch launch. I need some slicks dammit!!!
And ceasar, your car with juice....wow, all i can say....get some juice!!!

90mph traps with your bolt ons (minus the nitrous) is wayyy low. You should be seeing over 90 stock. And at the very LEAST 94mph with intake and y pipe. More typical is about 95. I think something is not right with your car.

Ceaser, how do you plan on running nitrous with your ECU upgrade?? You don't want it to go boom.

Yeah, i know, i have no clue whats up?? Ill run codes again to see if i come up with anything, but ive never trapped in the 94mph range, my fastest with the mods i have was like 92.xx, car seems to choke up top. My friend also has a y-pipe and drop in filter and and will pull me top end, his car is also a 99 SE 5sp....

Um could be cause your car is slow as mollases running uphill in the middle of winter and the driver sucks. JUST KIDDING, I think that a full second off your time with nitrous is ok to pretty good. Just don't get gready and go to bigger shot until you've had pleanty of time to play with this shot. Give it some more runs you'll bring those times down a bit more.

 quiet johnny...
I dont think ill be going to a bigger shot anytime soon..
Im just curious what it should run with that kinda mph. I was looking the 1/4 time slips forum and i found maybe 1-2 maxes who were trapping over 100 and were in the 14s, most were in the 13s trapping over 100...

99 have sensors from the 2k's Those are very limiting. Check your ECU for ghost Codes, Or you mite have a bad coil or something, When coils start going bad they throw off the KS. Try Spraying right when you get into 3rd. Ionno, what else it could be

I'm not a dragster guru so my opinion probably means nothing. From watching your runs in the past, track and street, i'd say you should look into getting out of the hole a bit smoother and work on the shifts. But if you want something definative

very true, but i gained 10mph from my all motor run to bottle-fed run. I ran about a half second slower when my bottle went from 1100psi to 900psi...

Yeah just for a comparison I have a 99 sel, stock clutch...i/y I ran well its my sig but a 15.0 at 94 moph...that was with a really sucky 2.4 60' time. I recently before that run put in new coils (since 99's seem to always go bad and I had a code for it) and just did a regular tune up. Of course are you running one step colder plugs that may be why your a little slower in na form.
