Figured I would go make a few runs at the import show. My best of the day was 14.226 @ 97.86. Weather was around 65-70 and around 80% humidity according to weather.com. I am pretty happy with these times on the stock boat anchor wheels
if u get the thing down to 2.1 u might even see a 14flat or high 13s
since u say 2.2 is crap for u, jus assumin, well cuz u seem to be able to get good 60' easily
try it with emptied trunk, no spare and better tire PSI as well(thats still somewhat street trim, jus dont remove the seats), and u probably dont weigh that much do ya?
on a side note, have u tried doin it at 1000rpm or so?
since 1500rpm seems a bit high for an auto, it might hurt the tranny..
the advantage i see for 1500rpm take off is u get a good jump, but have to wait a bit longer for the car to get traction, than floorin it, than say at 1000rpm, less stress on tranny, u get a bit less of a modest jump, but can floor it faster
jus thought that might be a good comparo to see which gets better results...

I don't know about that. I got a 2.169sec 60' time but only ran a 14.725 second ET in that same run.
Well its 2 tenths off your ET for every tenth off your 60'. So basically I was pulling 2.2's and running 14.2's. 2.1's would have me in the 14.0's and 2.0's which I pull on slicks have me in the 13.7's-8's.

What exactly is ET?
How do I get good ETs?
At the strip the clock doesnt start counting until i cross the start line? right?
That applies to street tires, but changes if you are using slicks. Slicks are used with low psi to help traction off the line, but the larger/softer contact patch causes drag and hurts the top end.
It applies to slicks also. Why do you think I have run 13.7's on slicks and my best is 14.2's on street tires. Also Neal has ran 13.6's on slicks and 13.9's on street tires. Drag racing is all in the 60'. The only thing slicks will hurt is your trap speed if they are taller than your street tire and aired way down for an extreme launch. In my case I run faster and trap higher on slicks because they are smaller diameter than stock 17's.
Originally posted by anthunny f23a4 u got 2.1s in ur 60' for a auto which is pretty good.. and u managed a 14.7XX
i read some of the time slips and found blubyu2k2 got 2.2s but was able to pull 14.6XX
so if f23a4 got 0.1 faster in the 60', shouldnt his 1/4mile time be like 14.4 or 14.5s?
both are auto, so u cant miss a shift or anything.
just the conditions I would assume because both tracks we run at are near sea level. I believe rockingham is 200-300 ft and e-town is very similar. Some say my car is a freak but I dont believe in that junk.
