how would this compete against a maxima? are they good in the top end? or 1/4 mile race? a friend of mine just got one and he is starting to talk some sh*t to me about racing him..just wanted to see if it would be a good race or if one or the other would get burned

Re: '93 nx 2000

If the max is an auto it would be a good race but the NX should barely win. However if the maxima is a 5spd it should own the NX. Given a good driver they are good for 15.4-15.9s @ 86-88mph for the NX2000.

my friend got an nx2000
if your friend got an regular SER engine
it should be an even race
but think about it nx is lighter than the sentras and 240s
and maximas are heavy
but if your friend got a j-spec engine your are just
**** out off luck
i know i went against my friend
goodluck

Yep, they had the same engine as the Sentra SE-R, good for about 140hp.
Should run a high 15

Re: '93 nx 2000

My best time in my 91 Nissan NX2000 was 16.2 bone stock.
With a Stillen intake, 2.5" exhaust, and DynaMax muffler it ran 15.6.

Run him and find out. It should be really close if you own an auto, and you should beat him is you own a 5 speed.

I don't know.. I have a 92 NX 2000 (for the guy asking, see www.se-r.net for cars using the sr20de engine, including the NX).

Mine has 142K miles on it, and although it feels quick and is very fun to drive, I think mine must be running like crap. I didn't have a stopwatch, but I just counted, and 0-60 was like 14 seconds!! Nothing is jumping out at me, other than it was cutting off until it warmed up, but I think I solved that with a EGR cleaning, new O2 sensor and throttle body cleaning. Since it is still on the original clutch, that might have something to do with it. :-)

So.. the answer is, you might be able to take him if it isn't running full steam, or if it is at least not in top notch shape.

Now.. as soon as I do my swap for a SR20DET, my little NX will be able to take the mighty Max any day.
