I took my bone stock (down to original air filter) 2k2 6spd Max to track last night. All "normal stuff" was in car including spare, golf clubs, single sub box, and my 240 lb lard butt. My best run:
I was Smokin'(getting smoked). My wheels hopped so bad, my wipers came on. Also, got caught staring at 'Stang instead of tach, and hit limiter in second. My other run was a 14.97@93.66MPH against modded lightning. I almost had him 12.222@111.05

Though many will COMPLETELY disagree with me, I think your car is running normal. I've never seen any spectacular topend from the 2k2+ as witnessed by running against a G35 and 2k3 6 speed at my track. Get your 60 foots into the lower 2.2s and you'll be looking at 14.6s@95mph.

I can't even imagine. You must have had some very intense wheel hop. Try to go easy on the launch, maybe rev lower and slip the clutch quicker I don't know. Wheel hop sux and is scary. I know I've been through it in my max.

Take all that crap outta your trunk, and get those 60's down. I regularly cut 2.2 60's in my 2k2, and trap around 99-100mph with just a couple of mods. When mine was bone stock it went 14.55@96.

What is your technique for launching? My times and speeds look like I would get similar numbers to yours stock if I got my 60' down.

I launch like I'm leaving a stoplight, just get the clutch fully engaged while gradually applying the throttle, when the clutch is all the way up, nail it. And shift at a tach indicated 6800, or just into the redline, this will keep you in the powerband. That should get you there, just be smooth, smoothness is the key. And that clunking noise you're hearing.....sounds like you broke a motor mount.

when i went to the track i was trapping at 97 mph, but my ET's were only in the 14.7's due to bad traction at the track
(all i had was an intake at the time)
and 2k2, i was thinking about trying that method, thats what i usually do if im messing around off the line when its cold out, since my tires will spin way too easily in 1st when its cold out

Why are you such a hater?
I ran 14.4 with a crappy 2.3 60' at 96 mph... maybe he just had too much crap in his trunk?
My launches were low 2.3s on other runs, which is not good, but not horrible. I nailed every gear shifting very fast, in fact I think spinning in 2nd may have slowed me down. What was apparent was that with my trap speeds, there was no way I was going to do a whole lot better than I was. My car, with good shifts, was only gaining 18mph over the last 1/8.
